Summary: great but
Review: This was a great book but i thought that it went a little to deep into some things and didn't go deep enough into others.

Summary: Excellent book.
Review: Great book for children and adults. Anyone, even those who are not fans of science fiction, will find this book absolutely impossible to put down.

Summary: Surely you will love this book!!!
Review: I really recommend this book for sci-fi lovers. One of the best thing in about this book is that it talks about the internet and the web but it wasn't even invented back then. I am planning on buying a new and nicer copy because it has been torn and has been wet. It deserves to have a very nice copy. I may only be 10 but I know a good book when I see one. I am going to recommend this book to all my friends (even though they don't read). I have already read THE HOBBIT and I am reading GOOD OMENS and THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING and it is faboulus! Trust me I know a good book when I see one. Read ENDER'S GAME!!!!

Summary: An excellent read for anyone
Review: I had no clue what this book was. I was searching for another good book that I would really enjoy. I stumbled upon Ender's Game and decided to read the customer reviews because I don't trust the editorial reviews. All of them were excellent reviews so I bought it.

I finished Ender's Game in about 7 days. I am a Michael Crichton fan and found this book to be not only fun and exciting with some really good surprises, but it was also an easy read. For that reason is probably why it is a commonly read book for Junior and High School students.

Read this! You will not be disappointed...I promise!

Summary: Wow.
Review: A friend recomended this book to me, and I went in skeptical. I came out the next day(!) amazed with what I had just been unable to put down. I went through it again, picked up some things I had missed, and I was hooked. I love this book, it's that simple. The rest of the series is OK, but this one is the best. For a younger audience, I suggest skipping the rest of the Ender Cycle and going into the Shadow Cycle (a.k.a. the Bean Cycle). If you like the Dune series, and I mean the whole thing, the rest of the Ender books are for you. Also, while this is considered a Military SciFi novel, I find myself wavering on that point. Hardcore MSF fans might not find this to be their thing. But, try it anyway, you might suprise yourself.

Summary: A better than average sci-fi book
Review: Ender's Game was a fun read even with it's flaky story lines (training adolescents to save the world, kids vying for power by using the nets, etc.) The thing I don't understand is why so many people think it's the best sci-fi book ever written. Anybody every read Asimov? If you like sci-fi then you will enjoy this book, but I think you would be disappointed with Ender's Game if you don't like sci-fi.

Summary: thrilling
Review: Ender's Game is a truly wonderful book. It was definitely a worthwhile and entertaining read that can be very thought provoking. Ender is a captivating character, who exemplifies the human sprit of determination and courage. He is so easy to relate to, that after a while he seems like a real person, someone you care about like a friend. Even though it is a sci-fi novel, typically non-science-fiction readers would not be turned off by it, because the science fiction element is only second the to the theme of humanity and the relationships between human beings and their emotions, which anyone can relate to. The story flows smoothly and keeps the reader entertained through the action packed descriptions of the "games" Ender plays at Battle School.
The book is not particularly difficult, but it is on the long side. Yet, it does not seem nearly as long as its actual 324 pages, and can be a quick read. The world Card creates is mesmerising, and you can not help but wonder what will be come of Ender in school, where he has made many enemies, and back on Earth, where his brother and sister are attempting to make influences on politics with fake identities. The ending was a major cliffhanger, that leaves you wanting to read the next book. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED TO ADULTS AND CHILDREN ALIKE.

Summary: superb in more ways than one
Review: I enjoyed very much Card's novel Ender's game, and I think the surprising thing about this book is the reality of the characters. Someone who has not read any of the Ender books would say, "child geniuses in the army and taking over the world is a little bit improbable", and most would agree. However, all the characters in this book are easy to relate to; who of us has not felt alone like Ender or afraid like Valentine? This is the real success of the story, along with the superb plotting, description and realism. Great job, Mr. Card.

Summary: Does the Ender justify the means?
Review: I loved this book. It was so fast paced that I couldn't put it down. Ender's adolescence is covered in about 500pp. He's pretty well-drawn. True, his dialogue is very adult. But you sort of want it to be, because he's supposed to be the brightest of the brightest. Is there any other way for smart people to talk? Some of the trials Card puts him through don't sound that challenging (he's sort of the class nerd, deliberately manipulated into that position by the authorities), but he does conquer that computer program in the end which no one else has been able to. There's also some pretty nifty lit-theory for lit-theory types. At the time this book was published the idea that simulation was even better than the real thing was percolating. And I don't want to spoil the ending, but Card sort of says the same thing. (I don't know if he intended it though.) There's also a neat act of political correctness (which he will despise me for pointing out, but it's there), namely that the alien "buggers" turn out to be sympathetic in the end. Is Card saying sodomy can be acceptable if done right?

My one complaint with this book is that it's not a stand-alone. It's actually part of a four volume set in a multivolume universe. There is nothing that a writer like Card cannot accomplish in one book of 500pp. that he can accomplish in a series of 2000pp. Please keep that in mind, Tor Books.

Summary: great by a not so sci fi person
Review: I relaly enjoyed reading this book. it was one of the few books that got me back into reading during the summer. although it did contain elements of science fiction, if you are not a sci fi buff you will love the story and plot and especially the protagonist Ender.
