Rating: Summary: Sometimes you gotta trust them reviews Review: My girlfriend said that I had to read this book...no matter what. From the way she described the story, I imagined space invaders (for those who are old enough to recall that video game) with suspense and sadness. So we surfed into amazon.com to check out the reviews. 800-odd reviews can't be wrong can it? I was sold. So I read Enders Game. You know what, Enders game is the best sci-fi book I have read in years. It is a simple read. It is brilliant work... and what caught me...was the reference to the "net" when at the time it was written there was no "net". A pleasure to read, the suspense gripping...I couldn't stop turning the pages... this was the fastest book I ever read...read this...no regrets.
Rating: Summary: Sometimes you gotta trust them reviews Review: If you read all 800 odd reviews, you will find bits and pieces of the story, the buggers, ender wiggin etc etc. When I surfed into amazon.com to find a good sci-fi book to read, I thought that 700 -odd reviews can't be wrong. So I read Enders Game. Enders game is the best sci-fi book I have read in years. It is a simple read. It is brilliant work... and what caught me...was the reference to the "net" when at the time Mr Card wrote the book there was no "net". Sheer readability, the suspense was defying and when I reached the last page, book 2 "speaker for the dead" was already on my book shelf waiting to be read.Just go on, get the book and read it...
Rating: Summary: This book means more to me than any other I've ever read. Review: I read this in conjunction with Ender's Shadow, and between them both, I really feel that this is an amazing look into the pressures of genius and responsibilities and the humans on the other side of the intellect. It's not so much about sci-fi then about people.
Rating: Summary: Good SF book but not (merely) because of the SF. Review: I read Ender's Game years ago, when it first came out. The author is a highly sensitive and perceptive man. As a childhood victim of abuse by bullies, I can understand how the highly intelligent kids are also highly sensitive. Dare I say those who disliked the book may not have acquired the sentivities necessary to appreciate the subtle horrors of childhood. Perhaps the recent high-school shootings should bring to light this hitherto unmentioned aspect of civilization. Children are underestimated in their intelligence and experiential scope. If we only recognized the highly bright and empathic kids in our world, and promoted them to be our leaders instead of harrassing them for being nerds, the world would be a better place. For those who feel underappreciated, don't. The teachers all said I was stupid in school and gave me bad grades. I joined Mensa a few years ago. Ender's Game is a vision of a future where the great potential of our young children is recognized, albeit unfortunately exploited due to the necessity of the alien war.
Rating: Summary: The greatest book writen to date. Review: I have read this book seven times. When I have nothing to do, have run out of books to read, or I just dont feal great, I reread OSC's Enders Game. I have read the whole series twice. And just finished Enders Shadow. I could not give this book a higher recomendation.
Rating: Summary: A MUST FOR EVERYBODY WETHER YOU LIKE SCI-FI BOOKS OR NOT Review: Ender's Game is the best book ever writen. I have read it 3 times and each time it is just as great. Orson Scott Card is the one of the best writers ever.
Rating: Summary: ::Hugs the book to pieces:: Review: I am a fourteen year old girl, and this book is my most favorite EVER. This is a VERY high compliment, seeing that I read a LOT and have read a LOT of books and THIS IS IT. THIS IS THE BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ. Read. Read. That's all I have to say. Read.
Rating: Summary: My ALL-TIME Favorite Book! Review: I read Ender's Game in about 2 sittings, and then I read it again in one. This book has the best plot of books I have ever read. The problem I found with some of Card's books are that you either love it or you comepletely hate it. So that's why the stars seem unbalanced.
Rating: Summary: Highest RATING ! Review: Saw this classic book recommended in another review (lucky for me!), picked it up and couldn't put it down! Very imaginative, easy to read, believable, moving. Looking forward to reading sequels and also new Ender's Shadow! Buy this one!
Rating: Summary: WOW!!!! Review: If you like Sci-Fi you should read this book. If you don't like Sci-Fi you should read this book. I have read hundreds of books in my lifetime and I have not found one as utterly riveting and well written as this one. Ender is a young boy who has been with special permission from the Government to save the world. If you have ever had a bout with feeling like you were alone, this book will make you feel more loved than you could immagine.
