Rating: Summary: THE BEST BOOK EVER WRITTEN! Review: Honest to God, this is the best book ever written in the sci-fi genre. Not only is it intense and gripping it is also thought-provoking as so many science fiction books are not. This book is not for the sappy, wishy-washy individual! It makes you think and understand some things about human nature I don't think we'd ever think about until we read this book. As a young student, I find myself empathizing with Ender, and it makes me realize that my life could never be as intense as his was, not that I wouldn't mind it. And the funniest thing occured to me at the end of the book: if Card hadn't told us how old Ender was and omitted all the stuff about his age and just outlined the bare plot, how old would you estimate Ender to be? 20? 30? Ender Wiggins is only eleven years old as the book closes. Makes you gape, doesn't it. I recommend this book to people who even don't like sci-fi because it's not as much about space battles and aliens, it's about life.
Rating: Summary: To the people that don't like the book Review: If you think That this is not a good book than you can explain to me how it won the Hugo and Nebula awards.
Rating: Summary: The book is a great science fiction book. Review: This book is a fascinating one about a 6 year-old boy. There are imaginary aliens called "buggers." There has been two invasions by these buggers. So the world government has picked out geniuses and are training them for the third invasion. Many people thought it wouldn't happen because the last invasion was seventy years ago. This boy's name is Ender Wiggins. He has been monitered and has been chosen for the training. They hope he is the one to fight off them forever. During the early training of course there were "games". They used guns to freeze eachother's team until one of them retreated. Ender commanded the troops, his team was called the Dragon. They were undefeated. This book is my favorite book I've ever read. This is only one of four books in this series. In my opinion, this is the best one of the series. Will Ender win? To find out the ending, buy this book. The other books in the series are Children of the Mind, Speaker of the Dead, and Xenocide. I highly recomend this book to everyone especially science-fiction lovers.
Rating: Summary: I think Ender's Game had a great plot, and a good ending. Review: Ender's Game starts right off, and gets to the point, I like books like that get to the main point quick. The auther does a great job of showing Ender's personality, and a great job of telling the story. It was also good how he included Valentine, and Peter, and didn't leave them out when Ender left. This book is a good all around book, and I would recommend it to anyone.
Rating: Summary: wonderful book Review: i really liked this book. it was very riveting, it held you until you finsihed the book. i read it like in two days! it hought it was very creative and i enjoyed it.
Rating: Summary: Very good book but the ending Review: I liked the book a lot, until I got to the end. The whole story was gripping, there were a few things I did not like at all. The way he ends the book was very weak. At one point after the major battle he should have concluded the book, then he should have started another book from that point on. In my opinion, I think that Orson could have done a lot better, but he gets these weird ideas and thinks he must put them in so that they'll help his story. Unfortunately, some of these ideas ruin the experience for the reader.
Rating: Summary: One of THE Best Books on the Market Review: I have a broad range of topics and genres that interest me, science fiction is merely one of them. BUT, out of all the types of books that I have read (romance, mystery, adventure, horror, sci-fi), Ender's Game is one of the most outstanding books in print today. The story is in itself riveting. Deep and emotional, we discover that there's a little bit of Ender in all of us, which is why the story is capable of making such a tremendous impact on the reader's life. One of the things in this book that I like so much is the way Card helps the reader follow Ender's line of thinking so well. His solutions, while brilliantly well thought, are in many cases, just common sense. But the reader is well aware of the fact that most of us wouldn't have been able to think ourselves out of a wet paper sack in the same situations. We are left feeling dazed and more than a little amazed. Still, I think it is hard to read this book without the benefit of a few kleenex boxes nearby. Card is absolutely magic at making the reader actually feel Ender's loneliness and isolation. It should be considered mandatory reading and will surely go down as a classic. A truly wonderful story and very enjoyable. It is not, however, a light, easy read and definitely not for the faint of heart. It WILL penetrate down to your very core.
Rating: Summary: this man is a genius Review: If one book ever changed my life, it was this one. On a level of story-writing, Card is the greatest writer I have ever read. He brings Hemingway and Salinger to their knees when compared with them. Freud knows nothing of the human psyche when compared with card, and he makes Plato seem downright dull when it comes to philosophy. On a more personal note, the perspective that he shows in this book very possibly helped save my life. If one book should be read in a lifetime it's this one. No one understands humanity more than Card, and his character of Ender reflects that.
Rating: Summary: Ender's Game has taught me so much Review: Like the tagline says, Ender's Game has taught me a lot. It never fails to give me new insights on life. All of the characters are full and round. I've read this book over and over and over again. I cannot begin to describe how great it was, so I won't try. Just read it.
Rating: Summary: Simply the best Sci-fi book I have ever read. Review: With all of the books available and my limited time to spend reading it is rare that I go back and re-read a book. "Enders Game" is one of those rare novels that needs to be cracked open every couple of years or so. Although set in the future it is a tale that would endear itself to those who can't stand sci-fi as a genre. Just read it already!
