Summary: I read this book cover to cover without stopping!
Review: "Mixed Signals" is my new all-time favorite book! I can relate to Belle's and Nora's desire to have a solid Christian relationship and stability in their lives. Belle & David & Nora & Patrick all learn that when we rely on our Father to guide us, everything else falls into place. David helps us learn to accept the forgiveness that is ours for the asking. I loaned "Mixed Signals" to a friend at work; she liked it so well she passed it on to another co-worker, & then another...I haven't seen the book for months but look forward to reading it again soon!

Review: After getting a slow start with Mixed Signals, it absolutely caught on fire for me! Belle O'Brien, disc jockey extraordinaire moves to small-town Virginia to help a former boss (with whom she had a crush on) with his new oldies radio station. It seems like everyone in town is sending out signals to someone else, and they are not always transmitting the correct messages. Mistaken love affairs, small fibs and secret pasts line this tale of inspirational romance, and readers shouldn't be surprised if they laugh out loud more than once or twice. The characters are all realistic and loveable (I wouldn't mind being a guest in Norah's kitchen myself), and I definitely will recommend this novel to my reading group.

Summary: A book reviewer's glowing comments
Review: Ellen Parker Eerdvig writing in K-Love Music News and Reviews writes..."A great story, superb characters, realistic situations, answered prayers and some uplifting plot twists make this wholesome love story a 'can't wait to finish' page-turner. Liz Curtis Higgs can add one more success to her resume."

Review: I absolutely loved Mixed Signals and her other fiction, Bookends, and so has everyone else I have recommended them to! The towns are charming escapes and the characters come alive (I actually miss them after finishing each book)!

Summary: Disappointing and full of cliches.
Review: I bought this book sight unseen because people who'd bought it on Amazon also bought the Jan Karon books. I was disappointed. It's just a romance, without any of the charm or diversity of the Jan Karon series. I found the characters and the requisite romantic mix-ups and misunderstandings to be cliche, and didn't see any sign of the humor reviewers here at Amazon have ascribed to Higgs. Very disappointing, though someone looking for a very light romance novel might find it just the thing.

Summary: LIZ YOU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN!!!
Review: I cried, I laughed out loud in crowded quiet rooms... wow what can I say? This book left me wanting more. Liz takes a myriad of wonderful (and some not so wonderful) traits and spreads them evenly over such a diverse group of characters. I identified with at least one of the struggles of each and every character. I also found myself wishing to gain the virtues projected in each. This book kept me turning the pages, I COULDN'T READ IT FAST ENOUGH! I often found myself speed reading through just to see how it turned out. But then I would go back and reread the pages to drink the beautiful imagery Liz poured onto paper. I can't believe this is her first novel! (But I am already reading "Bookends".) I left this book wanting to move to Abingdon and move in with Norah! But if you are looking for a dose of God's grace today, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND reading this beautiful book. WAY TO GO LIZ!! You've blessed me again!
