Rating: Summary: Great Book!!! I want another one!! Review: The Belgariad and the Mallorean were some of the best series I have ever read by far... they were interesting, and I absolutely loved the characters! This book definitley needs another one to tie up some more loose ends. I really want to find out what happened to Vella and Beldin, the names of Pol's twins. DAVID EDDINGS WRITE ANOTHER BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: I am so sad Review: The Belgarid was a good series, not all that origanal, but good nontheless. The mallorean was almost the exact same thing as the belgaried, group of people chase the badguy across the world, becaus ethe prophecy told them to. I cried at the end, though. I can't believe he flew away. He just turned into a bird and flew away. what a distinctly unsatisfying ending. (after you read the belgarid, you should just skip this series, and go to magaret weis's and ttracy hickman's dragons of autumn twiligh) the mallorean just wasn't worth the read, because once you read the belgarid, you know exactly what happens in the mallorean. i gave it three stars because i just had to know what happened to garion after the belgarid. I just can't believe he flew away...
Rating: Summary: Great....! Review: The book is great. Eddings has combined a good storyline with humor and good language to make an absorbing book. Although I wonder was it really necessary to make the ending so long? Although i like the Belgariad and the Elenium better than the Malloreon and the Tamuli, its still a great book. The only one problem is that Eddings keeps on using certain words and phrases. Think for a moment - How many times has the word and the phrase 'apoplexy' and 'One does ones best' been used in all the books? Theres also one particularly funny error in my copy of 'The Seeress of Kell. I don't know if it appears in any of the other copies, but it appears in mine. Near the middle of the book, after Sadi has poisoned Naradas, the Grolim sorcerer, the book says that Naradas was laid on a bier in the temple of Chamdar, the Arendish God. If you read the Belgariad, you'll know that the Arendish God is actually Chaldan and that Chamdar is a Grolim sent by Ctuchik to find Garion and Polgara. Chamdar is also the person that killed Garion's parents. If you'll overlook these small inaccuracies, the book is a great book. I still think so, even though that error involving Chamdar sent me into gales of laughter.
Rating: Summary: Boring...Boring...boring... Review: The characters (Characters?) are Boring, Pace of the book is Boring, Ending is Boring, Action (Action?) is Boring, Whole series is boring. Eddings is not a writer, he just misuses people who are into fantasy. Who published this? Who is the editor? Can't I give Minus stars on Eddings?
Rating: Summary: How sad... Review: The end to this story...so sad. I bought this book with a great feeling of dread, knowing I wound't have any to read after it. It was a great book. I think it was my favorite out of both of his series , just for the fact that we finaly got to see Silk caught. He is my favorite charecter in all of the books. I don't know why all the other girls are going after the other guys. Velvet is the smart one! I loved all the books.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely horrible Review: The first of Eddings's books I read were the Belgariad, which were pretty good and original. However, all his subsequent titles, including the Mallorean and the Pandion Knights books, have degenerated in style and content. I'm glad to say I've moved on from these books.
Rating: Summary: Action, adventure, drama, humor - these books have them all! Review: The Mallorean offers the ultimate escape into a world of fantasy
and adventure, with intriguing characters that come to life right before your eyes. Don't pick it up unless you have time
to read - it's almost impossible to put down!
Rating: Summary: A very disappointing conclusion to a good series. Review: The Malloreon started off very well, with books one, two and three packed with suspense. Book four, was an average book when compared with the other three, but this one was deeply disappointing. My primary criticism would be that the ending was absolutely terrible. The book did not require nigh on a third of its contents to be devoted to a happy ending. I found that it ruined what was otherwise a great story. Secondly, there was little development of the characters in this book. We learn nearly nothing about any of them, and I found them to be mostly two dimensional, with a couple of surprises thrown in to make them appear more realistic. With the notable exceptions of Silk and Sadi, I could not gain any insight to the characters' minds, and I found this to be very disappointing. Finally, I found the book to be very repetitive, over using phrases, in the futile effort to give it some depth. Given the standard of Eddings' previous works in this series, I really feel that he should have taken a lot longer to write the book, if all he could write was something of this quality. I was also very disillusioned by his addition of characters from the previous series, in a very amateurish fashion. One can only hope that he is planning to remove the final two volumes from his list of published works, and rework them into novels worthy of their forebears. If you want a really good and enjoyable read, I would suggest that you avoid this book and buy one of Janny Wurts' excellent War of Light And Shadows series instead.
Rating: Summary: The Biggest Real Adventure Review: The real adventure was reading this book without reading any of the previous 4 books, and enjoying every word of it. Nearly every angle of epic-fantastic-magic novel is present here, offering a very interesting and surprising plot. Powerful wizards, a raising god, love & hate and ... oops, the future of the universe.
You have had no life at all if you have not read this book. So go and buy it here at Amazon Books!!
Rating: Summary: Worst culmination of a series Review: The Seeress of Kell ends a fairly unnecessary series with the lamest climax of any fantasy series I have ever read. After meandering through the previous four books, this series ends with a decided thud. I enjoyed the Belgariad but the Malloreon lacked adventure, excitement and intrigue.
