Review: "Safely Home" has to be one of the most inspirational, revealing and personally challenging books I have ever read. If you have any heart for missions or the sufferings of others you will not be able to get through the last chapters with out shedding real tears and wanting to pray out loud. Get it...read it...change your life!

Review: I just finished reading Randy Alcorn's book, "Safely Home" and was profoundly affected by it. It has given me a perspective of the big picture, what is important and what our lives really should be about. It's only what's done for Christ that will last or be significant. Randy has brought this to our attention in such a compelling way. As the story reveals, people who know Jesus in other countries are risking so much to spread the Good News to others. They don't have the freedom to do it, but they can't be quiet about it. The painting by Ron DiCianni on the book's cover is also very moving. God was obviously directing both Randy and Ron in their work. This is a book you won't be able to put down once you begin reading it. When you finish, you will never be the same.

Review: Reading this book brought back vivid memories of my own trip to China. If you want to see past the headlines and learn what life there is really like, read this book! You will also find your priorities challenged and your perspective stretched to see the importance of life beyond the here and now.

Summary: One of the most important books written in modern times
Review: Living in the affluent west, we Christians tend to forget who we are and the heritage to which we belong. It has been my privilege to listen to the teachings of a man who was imprisoned for his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The conditions he described are unthinkable and yet the faithfulness of our Lord was evident in and through him. I found that what this incredible brother related to me of his sufferings for our Lord have been perfectly captured in this book.This work by Randy Alcorn captures the truth of the suffering church, the incredible perspectives of Christians who suffer for their Lord, and the reality of their lives in a manner than cannot be ignored. Although this story takes place in China, the events he describes are occurring all over our globe. To forget these brothers and sisters is one of the greatest errors of the Western church. Mr. Alcorn has taken what was a intellectual truth to me and made it a life experience which has caused my heart to break not only for those who suffer but also for those who cause this suffering. In addition, Mr. Alcorn uses incredible insights to help the reader understand the events on this planet in the light of Heaven's perspective. The beauty of this insight will cause those who long for their eternal Home to weep with sorrow and delight. If you are a Christian and want to strengthen your perspective on God and His work in the world today, you need this book. If you are a husband and father, you need to read this book to your wife and children. But be warned, there will be parts in which it will be difficult to read through the tears which you will shed. If you are a single man or woman, you need this book for yourself to see how God will stir your heart for "the least of these." If you are not a Christian, you need this book. It will help you understand the Lord of Glory in ways you will not experience elsewhere. If you think you are a Christian, you need this book. It will challenge your life and cause you to examine where your true loyalties lie. I thank the Lord Jesus Christ for Mr. Alcorn and this work of love which he has produced. If you, like me, are looking for a way for God to shake up your faith, I strongly encourage you to get this book immediately.

Review: Safely Home is a page turning book. You will not be able to forget after you finish reading either... If you read a book more than once this is one book to do just that. Randy Alcorn is a brilhant writer and will give you a chance to see some things in a different perspective, so keep an open mind and engage on a voyage to China and see what Li Quan and his family go through because of their faith... Most likely after you fininsh reading you will do something... Like the man that did the painting that is the cover of the book said " is fiction not fantasy"! So get the book and have a blast!

Review: This book has affected my life more than any book excepting the bible. This from a prodigous reader. If you fear you may become a radical bond slave of Christ... then don't read the book. If you want insight on being release from fear... READ THIS BOOK!
WARNING!! This book will not make you comfortable with American "Christianity". The real question is... does the Lord Jesus want you to be satisfied and comfortable with American "Christianity"? Don't give in to Foulgrin... BUY IT! And then buy the rest of Randy's books so you'll know who Foulgrin is.

Review: There are very few authors that I would send the extra money on for a hardback. Randy Alcorn is one of them. Ever since reading his book "Deadline", I have been hooked. Randy weaves tales that draw you in and involve you. This is book you won't want to rush through -- take the time to savor each page.
"Safely Home" is a powerful book on many levels. At times it will make you very uncomfortable. At times it will bring tears to your eyes. At times you will laugh at Ben Fielding then realized that you are him. It really made me stop and re-evaluate where I am at in my walk and what I am doing to feed and pray for others. Needless to say, I know what my family and friends are getting for Christmas this year.

Review: This book will leave you with lots to think about for a long time. I found myself challenged and thinking of life in view of the eternal, not the temporal. It is so easy to take our freedoms for granted, and even take God for granted. This book is a must read for Christians. I highly recommend it.

Summary: Open the Eyes of Your Heart
Review: This book is much more than a story you can't put down, it has opened the eyes of my heart to the cry of the persecuted believers in China. I had no idea to what extent the Chinese have to suffer for their faith and Randy's book moves you there to experience their life of courage and pain. Not only do you feel transported to another compeletely different country but you are given a glimpse of heaven's perspective on our trials and of the glory that awaits those who have stood the test and suffered for their faith. This book has changed my life by opening up my heart to my brothers and sisters in the faith who live so passionately for Christ. I realize my responsiblity to pray for them and to share my faith when I have much less at stake. I am utterly inspired.
