Rating: Summary: Great addition Review: I have built many ninja characters. This book describes the ninja as a class and ninja duelclassed called sinobi. Lots of ninja weopons and information, GREAT BOOK
Rating: Summary: this is a real good complete hand book, lots o good kits! Review: I only rate this book 4 stars (instead of five) cause' it's hard to understand some of the ninja's abilities the first find you read it. But, like all the other handbook, it is really good to enter ninja's in your campain. Althought the ninja kinda crushes the thief with he's hyper abilities, if you buy the complete thief's handbook, you'll see, thiefs shall take back their place of honor in your campain!
Rating: Summary: Another bad supplement ... Review: I will make this review short, everything you will find on this book, can be found in the much more complete D&D oriental adventure gamebook which is much more complete then this bad reprint.
Rating: Summary: Pretty handy little book Review: Not being able to find an old copy of Oriental Adventures, but wanting to run a Japanese-style campaign (while I was still in the States), I picked this up. While the Ninja class doesn't differ a whole lot from the thief compared to the OA Ninja, the Martial Arts rules, detailed lists of Eastern weapons, and great cultural details were worth buying it. With some historical and mythological knowledge of Japan and this book, I was able to create a pretty decent campaign with this book.
Rating: Summary: Pretty good Review: The Complete Ninjas Handbook is a good expansion to any existing campaign, although it cannot always be used. The best thing in it, is that there are good rules for Martial Arts. So instead of using the material in Combat & Tactics I prefers The Ninjas Martial Arts. A Ninja is truly a dangerous enemy if he chooses the right skills. A expansion on the Spy part of the Ninjas could be used, but thats just a detail.
Rating: Summary: A great book to add ninja-flavor to any class Review: The ninja class can add a great new dimension to the campaign. Even if you don't want your character to be a ninja, the new proficiencies, spells, weapons, equipment, and advanced martial arts rules can add some real zing to any other class. I used this book and 'The Complete Book of Dwarves' along with the 'Player's Option: Combat and Tactics' to make an awesome dwarven ninja with incredible fighting ability. The chapters on playing and campaigning the ninja character is a must read for creating adventures that involve secrecy, and espionage.
Rating: Summary: Hmmmm... Review: The old Oriental Adventures Ninja is much more interesting than most of what is presented here. It gets 3 stars instead of 2 because some of the kits are interesting. Oddly enough, the art, by one of my all-time favorite RPG artists, Jim Holloway, is lackluster. He had dropped from sight for a while, and while I was glad to see him back, I was disappointed in the almost pedestrian artwork. Compare it to any of the stuff he did for AD&D, and in this case for Oriental Adventures modules, and you'll see what I mean.
Rating: Summary: Best Complete ... Handbook Review: There are many great handbooks out there for Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 2nd Edition, but this is the best. There are no classes more interesting or intriguing than the ninja and their secret life(one that perhaps not even the other players may know about) There are also many other great classes in this book. Try the Shinobi mages or fighters who rival any warrior or wizard of the same experience level. Even if you're not interested in playing a ninja or any of the other classes in this book, you can use the information to make exciting adventures, plots and NPC villains. Finally, the proficiencies and martial arts in this book are great for any character class you're using in your campaign. Whether you're a player or DM, you cannot continue to play without this book!
Rating: Summary: Great book to add variety to any campaign. Review: This book is excellent for anyone who is starting to get bored of the same basic types of player characters. A lot of players have been trying to find a more interesting character to experiment with, and this is the best written and detailed book around to get you started. It sets up good guidelines and possible stories of your characters history but at the same time it inspires your imagination. I recommend that anyone who adventures by this book and add some variety to your campaign.
Rating: Summary: Pretty good. Review: This book is good because it tells of the secrete ambitions of the ninjas. Telling about the tooles of the trade and some new proficiencies too. Although I only give this book a 7 because it gets boring in some places.
