Summary: Breakaway made me want to play soccer.
Review: Breakaway is such a good book. I am ten years old and I don't like soccer, but I was really into the book. I felt like I was Luke. The book was well written. Breakaway even made me feel like I wanted to play soccer. Thank you, Ms. Little, for writing this book. I enjoyed it very much.

Summary: It was great!
Review: I believe that this was a very good book because I like to learn about my favorite charater, Deanna Troi. She learned a very important lesson about aliens. I am only 12, but I know a good book when I see one. -Elizabeth Keeler

Review: I enjoyed this book because it was fun to understand a little about what the people I know from the seris went through as a person my age.

Summary: A charming book. every young person should read it.
Review: I really loved this very charming book; it is a book every young person (boys and girls) should read, whether or not they play soccer. it is a heartwarming story of real human values and teamwork. it has the best possible ending. no fairy tale, but a lot of satisfaction, drama and somehow all sides come out winners. comments by Gayle Cooper sent by Wayne.

Summary: Great book for young teens w/suspense, mystery, joy, soccer.
Review: I started this book and couldn't put it down. I felt it was written with all the elements needed for a great story, even for adults to read. It was sad, joyful, suspenseful, had an interesting character development, was positive yet realistic. I have decided to read this book to a group of teenagers (14-16 year old) because it teaches values in a sports setting without being mushy. Great book for anyone.

Summary: Score Big and Net This Soccer Book!!!
Review: The idea for BREAKAWAY began when I was Team Mom for my son Jared's AYSO Fighting Falcons team and helping my husband coach. I saw how soccer changed the lives of the boys, and wondered about other boys I knew who wanted to play but never got to because of financial or other reasons. Dreaming about doing something big with your life and doing something you love is important for everybody whether you're young or grown. I dreamed about publishing books since I was young and it took almost 20 years, but the important thing is that I never gave up even when it looked impossible! I wrote and re-wrote BREAKAWAY over a period of five years and got 25 rejections before landing a contract with Avon Books. (Several other publishers ended up bidding for it, too!)

I hope BREAKAWAY gives girls and boys the opportunity to dream big, the hope that it can really happen, and the courage to make their dreams come true. It's got lots of action (girls against the boys), a twist that makes you cry, and an ending that will have you standing and cheering. Happy reading, and may you have the joys and dreams of your heart!

I'd love to hear your comments about BREAKAWAY! E-mail me at KimLittle@aol.com.
