Rating: Summary: What Are You Reading This For?? Order The Book!!! Review: RUINS is a wonderful book. I couldn't put it down. It is so like the TV show, that you'd think Chris Carter wrote it himself! If you enjoy the show, you'll love this book.
Rating: Summary: If you like the X- Files, you'll love this book! Review: Ruins is an exceptional book. I recommend it to anyone, even non X- Files fans. I couldn't put it down. WARNING! Don't read this book if you have anything important to do within the next 48 hours after you start it. You'll forget all about it and just keep reading.
Rating: Summary: I love it! Review: This is a great read. I didn't stop for a second. Just like the series, kept me wondering for more.
Rating: Summary: Fun and Interesting to read Review: Mulder and Scully finally get to get out of their dark, cramped offices and go to another country!! That's what I thought when I read a sypnosis. The location is fabulous, totally unlike the common dark and creepy areas we always see Mulder and Scully in. I detected a hint of "same-old, same-old" in the conclusion, though. Since I hate spoilers (occasionally), and I don't want to be one, you'll have to read the book to find out what I mean.
Rating: Summary: Terribly disappointing Review: I was shocked to see all the praise here that has been heaped on this book. I couldn't believe how poorly written it was. It reminded me of something that would turn up in a college-level creative writing course... before being slashed to death by the professor's Red Pen o' Doom & Dismissal. The characters of Mulder and Scully are cardboard cutouts of the M&S we know and love on TV. In this book Mulder only opens his mouth to fire off lame wisecracks and Scully is boring and bland. Don't even get me started on the rest of the characters. The only reason I even bothered to finish the book was to confirm it didn't get any better. I've read X-Files fanfic on the Internet that surpasses this book in every way (plot, characterization, dialog, and writing). This book is complete brain candy... but it doesn't even taste good. Disappointing. (No, I don't write fanfic, in case you're wondering.)
Rating: Summary: Ruins by kevin J. Anderson Review: I loved this book. I've now read every book in the series but Skin. The plot line in this book isn't as unbelievable as in like Whirlwind. It's a great book by a great author! READ IT!
Rating: Summary: Great Book, very suspenseful Review: I love the X-files. This was the first x-files book i have read and I thought that it was great. IT was very well written and it was just a great science fiction book.
Rating: Summary: the best one out of the X-files Review: I'm a one of the X-files' maniacs. This is the best story I've ever read and watched out of the X-files'. The 'Ruins' will give you the speedy and exciting feelings and a great imagination with its ellaborate plot. Once you start reading this jungle-story, you will not take your eyes off this book even at overnight.... just like I did.
Rating: Summary: One of the best pieces of X-Philian fiction. Review: "Ruins", by Kevin J. Anderson, is fast-paced, realistically enthralling, and true to Chris Carter's creation. With a good plot and endless twists, Mulder and Scully come to life on the page. I believe that, if one looks closely through the mind's eye, one can picture the darkness that lurks behind Mulder and Scully's dialogue. I also recommend another Kevin J. Anderson book, "Antibodies".
Rating: Summary: Zippy & enthralling, sure to please X-philes. Review: I was reluctant to read this book; a friend and fellow X-phile recommended it, but I was sure that the printed word couldn't do justice to the characters, unless written by one of the show's writers. How happy I was to find that "Ruins" is a fast, exciting, completely enthralling novel that stays true to the characters while maintaining the atmosphere that makes thew show so special. While Kevin Anderson goes a little overboard in the final free-for-all, "Ruins" is nothing short of entertaining, and a sure bet for fans.
