Summary: The best of the X-Files books
Review: Of the X-Files books, I have read, this one is by far the most interesting. It has the most dynamic characters of all the books. It was also a very fluid plot, but a bit predictable toward the end. However, if you're craving quality X-Files, the best cure is to, of course, watch the show. :)

Summary: What a book!
Review: This is your basic x-files book but with more suspence and a better story line than most of the other x-files.This is a real FBI case. The story line is intense and interesting Mulder and Scully venture into the wilderness of the yucatan jungle in search of a team of missing archaelogists that had gone missing. They find an electronic signal beaming up from the ground; the signal proves to be an important clue to the case.This is a book that anyone could read; it's a must have.

Review: i agree that "ruins" is a good book - the descriptions of mayan culture are interesting - but one of the things that really annoys me is how 99% of what mulder says consists of stupid one-liners. also, there's something about scully in this book that isn't quite authentic. vladimir rubicon says "uh" too much. these are just little things, but they bother me. otherwise, this is a pretty good book and i recommend it to all x-philes.

Review: another frightening story for the xfiles.... some readers has said that the events was slow but i think that the author wanted the reader to discover the characters more and more deep.... and he have succeeded to make us sympathy with the characters and loose our breath with the horiboly events....a good novel that makes u live the atmosphere....it will keep you up all the night...so get ready to find the truth....

Summary: Excellent book and portrayal of the characters!
Review: This was a really good book. I borrowed it from the library at my school and read it when I had time during classes and at home, and I didn't want to put it down for class! I was impressed with the portrayal of the Maya and the jungle, and especially the ruins. Also, I was happy they left the USA for it.

Summary: Definitely one of THE best X-files books out there!!!
Review: As soon as I picked up "Ruins," I couldn't put it down! I got so absorbed and intrigued in the plot and characters. I think Kevin J. Anderson portrays Mulder and Scully extremely well. Also, the setting for the story (an ancient Mayan city in the Yucatan Peninsula), was one of the things that drew my attention to the book. A great book that I think any X-files fan would enjoy!

Summary: Burn it!
Review: The plot of this book moves very slowly as the author seems more interesting in introducing Maya to us than moving the plot forward. You keep asking yourself: What's the purpose this scene? Why the hell are they doing that? The book is a great disappointment considering the amount of praise that's been heaped onto the book. I'm glad I borrowed this book from a library and didn't blow any money on it.

Summary: Kevin J Anderson delivers with an excellent book!
Review: I read this book awhile ago (about 2 years) and it still remains my favorite. RUINS finally got Mulder and Scully out of the immediate area of the US (Thank goodness they left my hometown alone!) and into an enthralling adventure out of the country. You *have* to read this one!

Summary: Ruins: 5 Stars
Review: Ruins was (in my opinion) a teriffic book. Anderson did a good job in writing; I could imaging Mulder&Scully actually doing that. That's important to me, I don't like sitting there and thinking to myself, "This is not Mulder and/or Scully, they would never do that." It was possibly the best X-Files book I've ever read, out of the 5 ones available now.
