Rating: Summary: The most detaled game world ever. Review: The problem, for me, with the Forgotten Realms line is exactly what my One-line above says, it is the most detailed fantasy game world. It is was vary hard for me to pick up this setting and pick a place to play in. With the large amount of material about this world it seemed to me to be hard to customize to your own likings. I eventually had to buy Spellbound to pick a spot I wanted to adventure in.
Rating: Summary: The most detailed campaign setting - and the best one. Review: The setting is by far the most detailed setting, and this all adds up to the richest most flavoursome setting in the AD&D world. If characters start in Shadowdale (a booklet provided) then the DM has a lot of well organised information accessable in the quickest time. I ran the first adventure the day I purchased the boxed set. There is enough material in the set to run many gaming sessions. I lost myself in the beauty of the setting, and the realism of the characters. I might name my first born son Elminster, and daugher Shandril.

Rating: Summary: AD&D Fantasy=Forgotten Realms Review: This boxed set is amazing, filled with everything that the Dungeon Master and players need to play in the Forgotten Realms setting. It is the definitive of fantasy for AD&D, and AD&D is the best fantasy gaming system. You can't get much better then that. It is a great purchase for novices as well as experienced Dungeon Masters. The descriptions set a rock-solid base for campaigns which you can only build on.

Rating: Summary: The Best and nothing but the best!!! Review: This boxed set is by far the best I have ever perchased. I fell in love with the realms due to the literary genious of a Mr. R.A. Salatore and I have been playing there ever since, I apreciated the gallery of famous characters be they villians or heros that was included in one of the books, as well as explainations of all of the good aligned organizations such as the Harpers or the Seven Sisters, as well as the evil aligned organizations such as the Zhentarim , and the Cult of the Dragon. All in all it is the best buy of the year if you do not already own it.
Rating: Summary: It has everything Review: This excellent new book from Wizards of the Coast gives you everything you need to run a D&D (3rd edition) campaign in the Forgotten Realms. It includes prestige classes, life in the Forgotten Realms, deities, and much more. This book was made with a quality that took my breath away (especially comparing it to the old historical Campaign Sourcebooks)! It includes many color and black-and-white illustrations and maps.I can't say more than it has *everything*! So, if you at all interested in the Forgotten Realms, or if you are interested in seeing a setting with interesting prestige classes and magical forms, then you must get this book!
Rating: Summary: Wow! This is an awesome setting Review: This is a fantastic setting in which an experienced gamemaster can set a campaign. The level of detail is rich, yet not unwieldy. No, I wouldn't play this the same day I bought it, but when reading it, the stories almost wrote themselves. It dispenses with all the nerdware fantasy puns and treats the world seriously, unlike previous incarnations I have read in my 15 years+ experience with these games. I get a real sense of the flavour of each region and town, as well as an excellent roster of characters to help drive the plot. It is the tool for a gamemaster who also has a life. I recommend it.
