Summary: Well embraced story fiction
Review: Flint the King is certainly one of the better preloud books, but it has a way of portraying a totally different story of Flint's capturing then it was in the original chronicles. The Gully dwarves that were potraid as annoying untrustful creatures that held Flint prisoner against his own will, but in this book they are actually potraid as kind, naive and honest creatures that Flint becomes extreamly attached to unlike the hated dwarves described in the chronicles by Flint. Beside that though, this is a funny book, with an awesome villian and alot of charector that explains a little bit more of everybody's favorite grumpy yet caring Hill Dwarf, Flint FireForge.

Summary: Good and moving tale
Review: Flint the King is one of the better dragonlance books in the genre. I was a little hesitant when i first picked up this book, thinking that it would be boring the whole way through. But i was severely wrong in that thinking. Not only was the book action packed, funny, emotional, but it had a great story line that keeps you hooked the whole way through.

When Flint goes to the lair of the mountain dwarves to investigate a murder, as well as discover what is happening to his town, he ends up getting captured. He is setenced to death, but ends up getting saved by some gully dwarves, along with a rather accentric mountain dwarf.

Flint must make the smelly, dirty, dumb gully dwarves into an army that can help him save his village from a terror that could wipe the town off of the map. Along with the female mountain dwarf, Flint tries desperately to save not only his life, but the life of all his family and friends.

This book is filled with just the right amount of action, suspense, and emotion, carrying you through the book until the last page flips by. Yes Flint is romantic in this book, but it does nothing to take away from the character that was established by Wies and Hickman back in the day. This book is definately up to the wonderful duo's standard, and will prove to be a great read.

Summary: Excellent. A must-read
Review: Flint the King was excellent. Aghar make any book worth reading, and Pitrick could have been one of the best villains I've ever read of. There was humor, romance, and action. If you liked Flint in the Chronicles, you'll enjoy this book. C'mon, "O Kingly Guy", "Queen Furry End"? How can you not love the Aghar?

Summary: average
Review: From the preludes series, I have come to expect average books. They don't live up to the original chronicles series or the legends series, but they manage to stay in a quality worth reading. Flint the King is no exception.

Some of the problems:

Flint goes through the darken wood with no difficulty. Darken wood is supposed to be so dangerous few people have actually gone through it and lived(chronicles) but the book treats it like any other trip.

Flint becoming king/protector of the gully dwarves and getting along with them doesn't fit in the least with his stance toward bupu and the others in the chronicles.

Flint is too strong in this book. He manages to fight off a troll at one point, yet this is set before the chronicles in which he has difficulty fighting the low end draconians.

Despite all of this however, like the other preludes books, if you just read it on its own and ignore all the contradictions with earlier and IMO better books, you will find that you are reading an all together enjoyable book.

Summary: One of the best dragonlance books
Review: I really enjoyed this book. It takes place in the years before the reunion. It was very humorous and showed a side of Flint you dont normally see. I know when i read the cronicles Flint seemed more a or less just a grumpy old dwraf, this shows that theres more to Flint that you thought before

Summary: One of the better Dragonlance books...
Review: My, my... Where do I start? I can say that this is the best book I've read in quite a long time. Like a lot of Dragonlance books it had twists and turns behind every corner, but it also contained some great comedy, action, and even a little romance. If you've read the origonal series and liked it, you really should read this.

Review: Sure, this book has a few inconsistencies but that doesn't change the fact that this is a very enjoyable read. Get this - it has romance. Featuring Flint. 'nough said. =)

Summary: Flint, the King
Review: The King of the Gully Dwarves... lol, I never thought I'd see that from Flint! All in all, this was a very enjoyable novel, complete with the humor of the Aghar (gully dwarves), a love interest of Flint's named Perian, magic from the derro of the Theiwar clan of Thorbardin, and the forming of an evil army. This novel definatley gives the reader a different aspects(s)of Flint, for the good, and his family is even broadened here. No other companions, though they are sorely missed during Flint's journey and adventures (by Flint himself) and one thing that was real interesting... in all the other Preludes novels (excluding "Tanis, the Shadow Years"--just getting to that one)the evil queen tries to enter this domain. In this novel she's only mentioned through her forces of evil. No plots of hers are destroyed like the other novels...

All in all, worthy of all 5 stars... maybe even more!!
