Rating: Summary: INVASION A DISSAPOINTING EYE CATCHER Review: This book has a brillant eye catching concept, however that is all that is brillant about it. Shifting from the view points of the starfleet personel to the alien characters within the same chapter with no mention of a change of venue leaves the reader confused as to what the author is writing about, I had to check the page number to be sure the pages hadn't stuck. The Klingons in this book are a far cry from the traditonal Warrior race depicted in Gene Rotenburys original it seems shameful how clumsy and two dimensional they are painted in First Strike. Captin Kirk is made out to be far too Timid acting less like a starfleet Captin and more like Hawkeye Pearce in a firefight. This could have been a wonderful book based on the concept unfortunatly the best part of this book is the cover.

Rating: Summary: A unique storyline that encompasses the future & the past. Review: This book manages to bring together the Star Trek world
with myths & legends from the deep past of Klingons & humans. Ms. Carey is a writer who uses clear & descriptive language & has captured the psychology behind the relationships of the main characters. It also uses humor as
effectively as the best Star Trek episodes & books do.
An enjoyable read for any Star Trek fan.
Rating: Summary: Good Stuff Review: This is the first book of the INVASION! Series, and I really enjoyed it, which surprised me because I don't often read Star Trek books. There was HUGE action and a really absorbing plot. Can't wait to read INVASION! Book 2
Rating: Summary: A New Structure For Star Trek. Review: This is the first of many successfull sets of Star Trek books that tackle the complexities of the Star Trek universe with the other three books in the set covering the three re-incarnations of Gene Roddenberry's vision. The book is cleverly written that any science fiction fan, star trek fan, or anyone with a yearning towards the future will enjoy. Any Stephen King fans out there should also grab-up a copy as Diane Carey is a joy to read where the plot slowly unfolds with rather a morbid undertone encouraging even the occasional reader not to put the book down. This book has the potential to draw new readers into the Star Trek Genre, after reading the book and the completion of the story, you are then inticed by the first chapter of the next book in the set, thus changing the Star Trek book from a mere story to a collectable series. This is the first of many successful cross-over/series of books written by Diane Carey she has also been instrumental in the "Captains Table" books in the guise of the 4th book in the set " Fire Ship " a Voyager book and the 1st of the "Day of Honor" books that being "Ancient Blood" a next Generation novel . She has a great understanding of the Star Trek universe in all its re-incarnations making the collision of this book with the rest like an invisable seam working with some other great Star Trek writers such as Dafydd Ab Hugh, L.A. Graf and of course one of the best Peter David. The last words.... A terrible horrer is about to be unleashed..........
