Rating: Summary: Perfect X-Files companion for those new to the series Review: This book contains a lot. There is an episode guide for every episode during the first 2 seasons plus The Blessing Way and Paper Clip, with interesting trivia about each episode, but the actual synopses are not very comprehensive. The best part of the book are the chapters on the origin and evolution of the tv show and the character and actor biographies, which are very good. There are scattered photographs through out the book. Get this book if you are new to the series but want to know more about the show in general.
Rating: Summary: Excellent, from a die-hard X-Philes POV Review: This book filled me in on the titles of episodes- I had no idea that these episodes had titles before reading this. It also helped me fill myself in on episodes I had missed and the authors did a very good job of doing so. This one is much better than the "Friends" episode guide- which only told you about the situation, whereas "The Truth is Out There" gives you a play-by-play.
Rating: Summary: This is one book X-Philes shouldn't be without Review: This book is essential for anyone who loves "The X-Files". Filled with comprehensive summaries of each episode from seasons one and two, as well as behind-the-scenes antecdotes, this more than satisfies my craving for wanting more than what's on the screen. It also gives the reader miscellaneous facts, such as biographical info on the characters and locations used in the show. The only thing this book is missing is an index, or a listing of each episode in the table of contents; I had a hard time finding a specific episode not knowing what the title of it was. Overall, this is one book I refer to time and time again!
Rating: Summary: Detailed X-Files Guide is a must-read for all X-Philes! Review: This elaborate X-Files guide is an absolute must for fans!! It offers in-depth episode analysis's for seasons 1 through 3 of televisions intelligent cult hit. Episode locations are pinpointed on a map of North America for each of the first three season's episodes, and reappearing characters and villians are gracefully biographatized in this paperback best-seller. For behind-the-scenes information of each breath-taking episode, delve into the three-season episode guide and learn of each appearing actor, then read a summary of the episode itself. The Official Guide's author credits even include that of the stupendous Chris Carter--beloved creator of The X-Files. If you love The X-Files, you're gonna love this book
Rating: Summary: A must have for fellow philes. Review: This is a good behind the scenes look at the first two seasons of the X-Files. It has episode plots with backround stories and histories. I found the history of how the X-Files came into being and a look at Chris Carter to be very fascinating. It also contains helpful character guides ( which are now outdated but still fundamental ). This book is highly recomended especially if you are now delving into the world of the X-Files.
Rating: Summary: Good, but pretty vague. Review: This was a pretty good book, although it did not delve into the episodes as much as I would have liked. It was little more than an outline of the first and second season episodes, but I really enjoyed the interesting bits of info surrounding the characters, the actors, the writers, and the behind-the-scenes action.
Rating: Summary: IT was ok Review: This was an ok book. It wasn't one of the best ones, but it was so-so.
Rating: Summary: X-Cellent Review: What can I say? This book beats the other X-Files guide books flat. It's behind the scene conspiracy is the best part of the book. A must buy for every X-Philes
