Rating: Summary: Action, adventure - never dull! Review: These two novels in the Dominion War series are two of the best ST books I've read. All action plot line and you really believe that these characters have come off the screen into the book - in other words John Vormholt writes about the people we got to know in 7 years of TNG and this isn't true of all the authors who write TNG books. A twist to the normal, the Captain stays on the ship story line, gives Picard the action while Riker gets the ship repaired by becoming romaticaly entangled with the woman in command of the repairs - that is the part of the plot which meant, in my opinion, that the book was not worth 5 stars. The book is a good read - it doesn't deal with new theories about space, but it does give the definitive story about how Picard saved the Federation. What else would you expect from the best Captain in Starfleet?
Rating: Summary: One of the best Next Generation novels out there Review: This book has me really revved up for a series that I hadn't been looking forward to, to be honest. I'm not a DS9 fan and this (of course) picks up a lot of elements from that show -- but this is a TNG novel all the way. There's a huge emphasis on Ro Laren -- and though I never liked her on the show, I really really liked her here. If you want to avoid the usual "hack of the month" books that populate the Star Trek book line, read this -- It's Great!
Rating: Summary: A great book! Review: This book is one of the best books I've read in along time, I wasn't much of a fan of Star Trek until I read this great book. It was really desciptive, It explained what the war was like, not like what it looks like on TV but it describes the peoples feelings and emotions. I am also really excited to continue "The Dominion War" series
Rating: Summary: Good book, well-written. Review: This book succeeds at what it sets out to be: an excellent action-based story set during the Dominion War against the Cardassians and the Founders. It makes little to no attempt to be more than that, so if you're in the mood for something more than a good action story, this isn't what you're looking for. But if that's what you're in the mood for, this will do just fine.
Rating: Summary: A great beginning to the best mini-series around! Review: This book was filled with the suspense and action that only John Vornholt can do.
Rating: Summary: This was a great book, it had excitement and spazz! Review: This book was great, I would recommend it to anyone, It includes all of the Star Trek Next Generation characters, and I loved it. It really tells about the Dominion War. It tells all about the changelings, the vorta, the Jem'hadar, everyone. If you want to get into Star Trek this is the book to read.
Rating: Summary: This book was execellent of the Enterprise E in war Review: This book was so good. I read it in a day. I couln't put it down. I recommend this book to anyone.
Rating: Summary: Good but not Great, but a real page turner! Review: This book was very different from the book I expected (ie on the Enterprise!) but still pretty good. the action in the book is great, especially with Data when he takes out a Jem'Hadar battleship all by himself! The guest stars of Ro Laren and the ensigns from "Below Decks" were interesting but I question having half the book star Sam Lavelle in a Dominion prison camp. however the whole book was a real page turner because you wonder how Picard and Lavelle will get out of their respective situations. however the ending was pretty small and resolved little. the Riker romance plot was okay.
Rating: Summary: The best book I've ever read, Trek or otherwise! Review: This book was Vornholt at his best. I'm glad he managed to bring back the former Lieutenant Ro, and show what our friends from the Next Generation are doing during the Dominion war.
Rating: Summary: This book is fast-paced and a joy to read. Review: This is a great book, I couldn't put it down. It moves very fast and is amazingly easy to read. The whole scope of the Dominion War is truly gigantic and the first book does a great job of starting it off. The plot is very well written and produced. The war is well depicted and struggles are easy to believe. This is almost as good as All Good Things,Vendetta, and Q-Squared put together. This war is the best plot twist since the Borg got Captain Picard.
