Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Russo Book The Best by Far !... Review: Joe Russo has amassed so much valuable information that its forseeable that more ape related books should come in the near future. Hopefully one alone on each film. Mr Russo had spent painstaking years to write this complete guide to the behind-the scenes information. He also goes into great detail as he had access to Arthur P Jacobs personal library, countless interviews with cast and directors. And along with a Heston foreward that alone tells you that there is validity in his information he's providing. This book tells the beginning - to the newly released 2001 version of POTA. I highly recommend a read if you are truly an Ape fan of the original series. I recently contacted the author and he was very amicable. Go Ape! Get this book!

Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Get Your Stinking Paws On This Book! Review: Planet of the Apes revisited is a must for all fans of the classic film series. From the Introduction by Charleton Heston, right through to the final chapter on Tim Burton's "re-Imagining", the Authors manage to answer every question you could possibly have about the Ape Movies, TV series, and Cartoon series. This book was over 15 years in the making, so the Authors were able to interview just about everyone associated with the films, from the Stars to the Crew. Kim Hunter & the late Roddy McDowell provide great anecdotes, and the struggle of the late Arthur P. Jacobs (Producer of the original Series of Films) to get a Studio to MAKE the Movies is exhaustively documented. Two small problems: 1)- Many of the pictures in the book aren't captioned, so you aren't sure who or what you're looking at; and 2)- The Authors briefly mention the Ape Comic Books, by Marvel and Malibu. I would have liked to see a chapter covering these books, as well as a chapter (or Two...), about other Ape ancillary products. Ape fans will love this book, and when you're done reading it, you'll watch the Movies with a new appreciation.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Exhaustive book Review: This book has a huge amount of details and facts about the "Planet of the Apes" francise. This includes the short-lived TV show and cartoon, and even the Tim Burton remake. Interviews with now deceased actors like James Franciscus are especially interesting. I wish the book had included a few more behind-the-scenes pictures, but overall I'm pleased.
