Rating: Summary: A highly entertaining book! Review: I enjoyed this book immensily. Salvatore is one of my favorite authors! I like all of the Cleric Quintet books, all describe the characters clearly, and you can really get into this book. When I finished reading it, I immediately wanted to get the rest of the books in the series. A deffinate must read book
Rating: Summary: Dissapointing Review: I found this book to be very hard to get into and not a very entertaining tale. It was written well, and was slightly better than mediocre, however, I found it to be unnecessarily violent at times. In addition, I found it dissapointing at the end. Barjin was supposed to be one of the most powerful priests Castle Trinity had ever seen, yet he was very easily defeated. Salvatore made a point of showing the reader how powerful Barjin was, and I felt the end was rushed and I was unable to believe that a man of Barjin's power would be dispatched so easily
Rating: Summary: Lacky of the stupid one. Review: I have enjoyed alot of R.A Salvatore's books. This one is no exception. The characters are very different from his usual mix. Which is good and bad. Some of his characters are good and strong and interesting and others like the love interest and the headmaster are rather shallow. The plot is fun and the villains are well thought out, especially the Imp. If you enjoy the forgotten realms line of books then give this one a read.
Rating: Summary: A good opener to a great series!! Review: I loved the way that this book started and commenced with the trial at the Library. The little weapons that Caderly has made are great and entertaining. The dwarven brothers really put laughter into it
Rating: Summary: Canticle by R.A. Salvatore Review: I picked up this book while on a basketball trip looking for something to entertain me on the bus ride home. I didn't have any idea what it would be like. It did not entertain me, it amazed me. I was spellbound from start to finish. A wonderful fantasy book, and one any fan of fantasy should not be without. Salvatore really knows how to bring his characters alive. The story was extremely well crafted. I enjoyed the book so much I bought the last four while on another basketball trip and they also have been quite a joy to read.
Rating: Summary: seems well written but not what i'm looking for.... Review: I read the first two chapters of this book, and although Mr. Salvatore seems to write very well, even after reading the first tw chapters i was disappointed. There is too much magic in it and i dislike some of the things about the charcters. Otherwise it would have been ok.
Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: I really regret that I didn't read this sooner... I was a big fan of the Forgotten Realms and of RA Salvatore but I wasn't sure I should read this book. I wasted too much time worrying that I would be disappointed by the absence of Drizzt and Salvatore's other characters. But when I read this I kicked myself... it was awesome Inventive Cadderly, Dangerous Danica, and the amazing Bouldershoulder brothers are so lifelike (or as lifelike as fantasy beings can seem) They act like real people. They have desires and buried dreams like everyone. And the best part is that the villian and his chaos curse depend on such hidden wants. Though this book isn't all about sword swinging and killing the action is set at a good pace, just so that you'll keep reading but not so that you feel overwhealmed. Please read this book, above everything else it is fun, that same element that draws you to Drizzt is ever present. In the Cleric Quintet Salvatore proves that he can and will bust out new characters that are just as amazing and loveable as the old ones. Don't pass this by now, you'll regret not reading it later
Rating: Summary: A good book, but not Salvatore's best. Review: I thought "Canticle" was a good book, but I didn't enjoy it as much as I did the books in the "Dark Elf Trilogy."I love the way he makes you feel about his characters. You'll like Cadderly and root for him like you should, and you hate Aballister and Barjin like you should. I especially liked the twist at the end!
Rating: Summary: "A quintet?" you ask... Review: I thought the same thing, to be honest. Five books in a
limited series? What a bizarre concept. Now I wish there
had been ten books. The characters are wonderful and
dynamic, much like Drizzt Do'urden of Salvatore's Dark Elf,
Icewind Dale, and Legacy trilogy fame. Salvatore has over
twenty published novels, and I have read most of them.
Canticle and the rest of the Cleric Quintet are some of my
favorites.
Rating: Summary: Pure genius. An acclaim to the Cleric class. Review: I was really impressed with the handling of the cleric class. Never before have I seen a cleric put out as the main character in any book. Exceptional writing and a cast of fantastic characters make this book a must read.
