Summary: Plot twists...mmm
Review: I believe this was an excellent continuation of Spectre. I love plot twists, and this thing about the preservers. I keep trying to figure out, day to day, what is going to happen in the next book. I find it to be a wonderful series thus far. Can't wait for the next one... later everyone!

Summary: Great Book!
Review: I'll sum it up in 3 scentences. It was a very good book that was filled with twists and turns. Lot of action. Don't make us wait for Preserver.

Summary: Dark Victory is great
Review: I have to agree with all the people who feel that Shatner's books are true Star Trek. I have been hooked on his books since The Return and feel that book as well as his subsequent novels should have been the movies. The Return knocked the socks off of Star Trek: First Contact (Which should have been called, Star Trek: Let's violate the Prime Directive). If you are going to begin reading these books for the first time, you must read Spectre before you read this one because it is the middle of the trilogy and it advanced the story laid out in the previous book. Ranking-wise this one is third after The Return and Spectre. But the gap between all three is narrow. Shatner has the characters down cold. I am eagerly awaiting Preserver and hope he continues writing more after that. Attention Star Trek honchos. Bring back Kirk before the whole franchise ends up in the tank. Mr. Shatner, thank you.

Summary: Trek at its best!!
Review: Shatner's latest book is simply awesome. it picks up right where Spectre left off. Shatner has once again shown how science-fiction can be so entertaining. No other series of books on Trek can even compare to Shatner's books. The creativity in these books is astounding. I love the amazing story line and how it is 100% consistant with the series' and movies' stories. To W. Shatner (and J & G Reeves-Stevens), thank you for some awesome books and I look forward to Preservers.

Summary: Nice Continuity, but no real plot
Review: I anxiously awaited this sequel to Spectre, but I was unfortunately disappointed. This book is very obviously the middle of a trilogy. At the conclusion of the book, I was left with "What was the point?" Nothing of any substance seemed to happen in the entire novel. Rather, it seemed to me to be 303 pages of pure exposition. I hope that Preserver makes up for it....

Summary: Kirk encounters his long known enemy- Himself!
Review: I think it is a good book, however it would be better to read it after the next book, The Preservers, comes out. It is about Kirk having to face a secret Federation organiztion and his mirror counterpart.

Summary: Kirk to Save the Universe as we know it!
Review: Captain Kirk's adventures in the 24th Century keep getting better. I finihed it in a day. It was an excellent read. Shatner spins a twisted clever story, involving old friends as well as new ones. I am just waiting for Sisko to join in. I mean, shatner has involved Picard and TNG crew and Voyager, but very little of DS9's captain, Ben Sisko. Come on, bring on hawk!

Summary: WOW! EPIC PROPORTIONS! Trek at its best!
Review: Kirk vs. Kirk; the only true matchup. That, and now Shatner is giving the fans what they always dreamed of yet again; now he is going to try and tackle the whole big 2001-ish mystery of the Preservers. His whole series of books has been about fulfilling the wishes and dreams of all the fans (unlike the people who are running things these days) The thing that has amazed me about Shatner's books is that he writing the continuing saga, and it really is about one universe. All the series and movies are seamlessly connected, and with his books you really get a great sense of "The big picture" I always was dissappointed in the original series, we never got to see the evil, mirror Kirk. Well, just as Kirk is awesome and good, his mirror image is all that reversed! Scary! Once again, the love and fire for Star Trek and its characters is shown throughout and the pacing is great. These books are so great, they go by WAY too fast! There is even an X-Filesish type mystery twist to this whole thing, and the ending really leaves you hanging. I would do just about anything, and pay just about anything to see Shatner's books made into movies. I defy anyone to show me anything Trek in recent years that comes anywhere close to the quality in Shatner's books. The most recent thing you will find is Star Trek 6. After that... forget it! It's so awesome to see all our favorite characters working together, and it's realistic, because they don't always get along. A lot of history is covered too, and a historical moment occurs in this book; something we have all waited a long time for. I am always amazed, but Shatner seems to be able to come up with some many new, fresh, and big ideas (along with the help of the Reeves-Stevens, who are awesome as well)It's pretty obvious that Shatner is on the side of the fans here, and his books are a response and a backlash against the sub-par mediocrity that the powers in charge have allowed Trek to plummet to. I can't wait for the next one. I feel just like I used to waiting for a new Trek movie. These books are that good and deserve the highest praise. These are truly Star Trek at its best. This is the Star Trek that has survived for over 30 years. You want to what Star Trek is about and why it has lasted so long and has such a broad appeal: Read Shatner's books! Dear Mr. Shatner, Thank you for giving the fans what they want. You have proven your love for Star Trek, and I only hope that maybe you, Mr. Nimoy, and some others can do something before Trek drowns in the watered down political correct, soap opera slump it has found itself in in recent years. Trek is dying because it is being run by people are who interested in the bottom line: the almighty dollar. That is all good and fine, but read Shatner's books, and see what knowledge and love for the thing does. Thanks Mr. Shatner!

Summary: what i think
Review: I think the cover of the book is ugly. The color blue and the new young kirk make it look tacky, it should have looked something like the cover of Spectre instead of Picard it should have had two kirks one with a facial hair and without. the real kirk should a few wrinkles just enough to show the passage of time.

Summary: Awesome!!! Best one so far!
Review: I just got the book and i'm only half way and it's cool!!! I'll leave another review when I finish. It's a good book so far. Kirk Vs. Kirk. Lets hope it's not a year for preserver.
