Rating: Summary: Enjoyable Review: This book would actually get 4 and a half stars but they don't have that. first, william shatner books, have been the only ones that have a feeling of the movies. Others like peter david have been very entertaining and in line of continuity, but no one has been able to do kirk like kirk. These novels do that. WHile it does suck that i have to wait a year to get the final installment of this trilogy, it was very good. there are flaws aas with any start trek book. but overall it was good. this was an obviousd prequel to the next one Preserver. This is really just another book to enterain the auidience, not destroy our senses, it should be taken as that and that alone.
Rating: Summary: Another Victory for Shatner Review: I enjoyed Dark Victory a great deal. As usual, Shatner makes a connection between the "present" and Kirk's original 5 year mission. When I watched the series as a kid, I always wondered why they never revisited their new contacts. It's great to see them building upon the first adventures to capture our interest. Can't wait to read Preserver!
Rating: Summary: Shatner finally exposes the real "StarFleet" Review: Star Trek: Dark Victory is the best Trek book of the Shatner series because it finally depicts the Federation and Starfleet as cruel, military-minded politicians instead of the every-body's friend persona depicted in ST: TOS and ST:TNG. Can't wait for "Preservers".
Rating: Summary: This is one of the best novels that William Shatner wrote!!! Review: This book is extraordinary. You cannot put this book down if your life depended on it!
Rating: Summary: Leaves You Hungry For MORE! Review: Kirk is cool, and who can write about the authentic Kirk better than He That Played Him.
Rating: Summary: Shatner should get over the fact that his character is dead. Review: I have read every Star Trek book that has been published, and this one was the pits. Shatner's ghost writer did a good job, unfortunately he didn't have much to work with to start. The resurrection of Kirk has always been a weak story line, and now he is the brave stud of the 24th century. The plot was predictable, as was the ending. Shatner is milking the Trekkers for all the money he can get, while telling us to "get a life". His timing of the action is out of whack, and Kirk is still leading the way in his same reckless manner. This entire trilogy could have been better told in one book, with a faster pace and less "twists". Shatner should get back to what he does best, acting. Some of his books have been passable, but none of his books have been great. The best Star Trek books reflect the essence of Star Trek, and move into storylines and insights that are not possible in film. This book, just wearies the spirit, much like his film Star Drek V: the Final Frontier. He thinks he know Star Trek, but he only knows his own ego.
Rating: Summary: What was this about? Review: This book seemed to be about nothing. I was expecting something to happen within the novel but nothing big really did. I think this was just written so they could call it a trilogy. I am hoping that the next book will be a lot better. I have read all of the Shatner's Trek novels and this is the only one I wouldn't give five stars. This book took me forever to read because I didn't find it gripping at all. Does anyone know what this book was about? If so put it in your review and enlighten me. THANKS!!!!
Rating: Summary: A Truly great Star Trek Adventure Review: This return of Kirk series is one the greatest Trek series ever. Shatner has captured the likeness of all the next generation characters perfectly, and has also created some new characters that are very real. I can't wait for the sequel, Star Trek: Preserver to come out.
Rating: Summary: One of the greatest books in the world! Review: This book was one of the greatest books I've ever read. William Shatner has become my favorite author. I can not explain in words how good this book was. I would have given it 6 stars if it had been possible.
Rating: Summary: With all the talk... Review: about Dark Mirror, Spectre, DS9 and Dark Victory, the best mirror universe story is still the one that aired in 1967.
