Summary: Too much continuity
Review: This is a continuity laden book, where we get at least fifteen episode references per page. Couple this with a wordy writing style, and you have a book that is really difficult to slog through. The further I got, the more I wanted to cringe. James T. Kirk riding to the rescue of the Federation yet again. Enough of the ego trip, Bill! Get over yourself! If you like a Trek-fest of nothing but name-dropping and recaps of your favorite episodes, you'll enjoy this, but I was actually hoping for a story. I am so happy I got this out of the library and didn't actually end up paying for it.

Summary: It was an incredible adventure spaning the Trek generations!
Review: As I write this review I am still in the process of listening to the audiobook version of Spectre. Thus far, I am throughly enjoying this unique and thrilling story. As I read each of the books in this series I wish that this could be made into an epic movie! But that's only wishful thinking. I especially loved how the alternate Voyager was like the alternate Janeway's, being the kid, was like her candystore. Once again William Shatner has demonstrated his exemplary talents as an author.

Summary: Excellent book which fills in the history of the Empire .
Review: Excellent novel for the true Trekker. It fills in the history of the parallel universe after the events of TOS "Mirror, Mirror" and describes how the mirror Spok influenced the history of the mirror universe and what happened to the mirror James T. Kirk. (Hint: Remember the "T" in James T. Kirk stands for "Tiberius"). It makes an interesting bridge between TOS episode and the resurrection of the mirror universe thirty or so years later on Deep Space 9. The only problem I have is the "Cliff Hanger" ending. It make you want the next book in the series to come out tomorrow. But then again, isn't that what good marketing is all about?

Summary: Great read!! Don't miss this one!! Go James T. !!
Review: I was thoroughly engrossed from page one. The mirror universe characters were believable and you actually were made to care about their fate - a direct departure from the "Mirror, Mirror" TV episode or the "Dark Mirror" STNG book. I was a little disappointed that the events of "Dark Mirror" were not alluded to at all. In the scope of Star Trek continuity, that should have been addressed. Be that as it may, that does not detract from the quality of this book or lessen my anticipation for "Dark Victory". Move over Jean Luc - the master of the last minute save is still alive and kicking! God bless. The future is His.

Summary: A must read!!!
Review: Spectre was fantastic! I couldn't put it down. I took out all three at once, AVENGER, THE RETURN and SPECTRE. I have been making movies in my head ever since I read them. Spectre was so full of familiar people that I couldn't get enough. I want to see Teilani!!!! I would love to see a movie made from this. I imagine it might be too expensive to get all those actors together plus the special effects, but so what, it's only money. Maybe a series of movies. I have been re-watching old star trek movies lately to get my fill. Make another or two! I was frustrated when I got to the end, but only for awhile. Then I started to imagine what was going to happen next. I am looking forward to reading Dark Victory very much. Get going Bill!

Summary: I can not wait until he writes the next one! It was great!
Review: I'm going to hate to wait for the next book to come out., because Spectre is the best book that Mr. Shatner has ever written for Star Trek. I know, because I've read them all, and they are all good, but this one is just great!

Summary: Great book Mr. Shatner. I couldn't put it down.
Review: This was an fasinating and well written Star Trek book. I love how the movies and shows and other books intertwine together.

The only thing I didn't like was that when Kirk said he finaly found the meaning of life and it was "to live" and that to leave anything else for the philosophers. I think that is not true no matter what century and that the true meaning of life is to live a life that glorifies God and to tell others about Jesus. TO GO BOLDLY AND TELL OTHERS OF JESUS IN ALL THE WORLD. And Jesus is for everyone for it is for every one he gave his life and not just for philosophers.

I am looking forward to DARK VICTORY. Mr. Shatner is a great writer and actor and director. Keep up the good work and keep the books coming.

Live Long and Prosper. Jesus loves you.

Summary: A brilliant novel and sequel to 'Mirror Mirror'
Review: I must say I agree wholeheartedly with "hlbjoan.bt.co.uk from London" 'Spectre' was a brilliant if not inspired novel and sequel to the classic episode 'Mirror Mirror'. And I'm in total agreement with his or her interesting suggestions as to future directions for Shatner and his collaborator's future Star Trek adventures. But I would rectify that Dark Mirror was written by Diane Duane not Peter David. A glaring error for one so astute. Although I would have to admit I read that novel and found it most inferior to 'Spectre'. But then I don't like Peter David's body of work at all. Maybe I'm biased but I could never forgive him for ''The Death of Jean Dewolff (Amazing Spider Man) killing off Detective Captain Jean Dewolff from the Spiderman comic book series.

However I'm digressing. Paramount should read 'Spectre' and act accordingly there's quite a few plot strands to weave a few developments into the Star Trek movies. Maybe an oblique reference that Kirk is not dead, that his body is missing from Veridian III and of classified missions involving a former starfleet captain and Ambassador Spock. It's a interesting premise but I don't think it's anything that paramount will consider, just like they have not considered revealing the fate of former Starfleet Lieutenants and maquis Ro Laren and Tom Riker even though frankly they should have re- surfaced again ages ago, or at least had an honorable mention in Deep Space Nine. Go on Paramount the balls in your court.

Meanwhile William Shatner, Judith Reeves-Stevens and Garfield Reeves-Steven are doing a better job than you are at least as far as the Star Trek movies go.

Summary: Excellent yet again!
Review: I couldn't put this book down it was good! I would have given the book a ten if I hadn't had a few misgivings. 1. There is nothing worse in this world that a cliffhanger! I don't like it when they do it on TV, I don't like it when they do it it books, and I especially don't like it this time because I got so engrossed in the storyline. I'll have to wait almost a year now until the conclusion. Not that I'm complaining. As long as the conclusion is up to his usual standards. 2. I don't like the idea of Starfleet being infiltrated by counterparts from the mirror universe. That could cause serious problems reminiscent of those when there was suspicions about everyone being shapeshifters.

I have nothing left to say other than to point out something. A lot of people will have been reading this to see whether Kirk ever gets command of the Enterprise again. Well, he's finally done it. Well, he has and he hasn't. I look forward to seeing how James T. Kirk does against Emperor Tiberius on the Enterprise. "The waiting had begun."

Summary: Good Book!!!
Review: I loved this book. I have read all his books in which Kirk comes back books and haved loved them all. Shatner knows what the reader wants and tells it to them in a way that no other star trek writter has percieved. Great!!! I recommend you buy a copy!!!!
