Rating: Summary: An exellant book. Exellant, exellant, exellant!!!!!!!! Review: Q-Sqaured. What a book. It is wonderfully confusing if you don't read the notes at the beginning of the each chapter, because he is using three different universes. That's not immediatley obvious, however, because for the most part all of the universes have the same characters. Anyway.... The plot line is fantabulous, and the characters are incredibly well developed. Peter David uses language in such a way that you forget that you are reading the book, and actually feel as if you are hovering above, if not in, the action. I think this is absitively posilutely one of the best works of Star Trek fiction, indeed all fiction that has been written in the last twenty years. So dive boldly into this book! Three thumbs up
Rating: Summary: A Great Star Trek Read! Review: Peter David has obviously given a lot of thought to this story. He very expertly weaves elements from both Star Trek Classic and Next Generation episodes. Mr. David creates a number of very plausible explanations that make it seem as if the early Star Trek episode 'The Squire of Gothos' was intended all along to tie-in with the Next Generation episodes starring 'Q'. Nice job!
The dialogue in this book is absolutely great! As you read the lines of each character you feel as though you're listening to them talk. Syntax, grammar, even intonation, are all nicely conveyed by Mr. David.
There are a number of surprises in this book. As the author warns you from the very start, 'Make no assumptions'. You'll be guessing about how the story ends all the way to the end. And even when you get there, Mr. David gives you one more small surprise.
Even if you've read only a few Star Trek books, you'll know that the quality of these books ranges from poor to excellent. Mr. David's books are definitely of the latter category. And 'Q-Squared' ranks among his best.
Rating: Summary: READ THIS BOOK! Review: This has to be one of the most, no check that 'the most' confusing, entertaining, exciting, interesting and best Star Trek book I have ever read.
It's one of my most well thumbed Star Trek books and if you buy it it'll be your most thumbed Star Trek book as well.
Rating: Summary: This is the single greatest Trek story of all time Review: I read this book from the library, but it blew me away so massively that I had to go out and buy it in hardcover. Peter David once again proves that he is the single greatest Trek writer ever. His previous Trek books, such as "Imzadi," "The Siege," and "Q-In-Law," already cemented his status as a great writer, but this simply clinches it. The books plot is a wild ride, consisting of 3 separate universes, but when they all converge, it becomes a climactic roller coaster ride to the end. Don't try to predict where it's going, because David already proved that he is anything but predictable
Rating: Summary: This is a must-read Star Trek book!!! Review: WOW!!! Peter David knows how to write in the Star Trek world. Another great Star Trek book. Peter David presents the readers a very interesting storyline. Q is now a babysitter for another Q-being, Trelene. Can you see how explosive a combination like that can be, since Q himself is not very much mature than a 3 year-old human. And he is trying to teach another superbeing about their powers! That is scary
Rating: Summary: The best Star Trek novel ever written!!! Review: One word: WOW!! Three timelines, colliding.
If that isn't a good plot by itself, I don't know
what is. Not to mention: Q, an all-all-powerful
Q named Trelane (TOS), Jack Crusher, sword
fighting, and a very humerous use of Winnie
the Pooh!!!!! If you have to pick one Star Trek novel, pick this one
Rating: Summary: Peter David REALLY Knows Q! Review: Ever since I became a fan of Star Trek fiction as a teenager, I really began to take an intense liking for "Q".
Peter David has done a work of utter suspense, drama, and emotion with this book. When I bought it in hardcover in the summer of '94, I immediately thought, "Does John DeLancie read it on audio?" He does. I was thrilled.
The previous book, "Q-in-Law", was a masterpiece as well. The whole idea of the Q entity is a fascinating one. Peter David shows remarkable knowledge and enthusiasm in his writing. From the introduction that is included, we can all rest assured that when Mr. David demands no interruption from his family during a writing frenzy, he's absolutely living the story as he creates it.
The best part? Well, if we read the hardcover, Mr. David says to us in the last line, "...assume nothing". This is exactly what you do when you read or hear this book. This is a tie with the running line, "I am Q, and you have absolutely no idea how screwed up this is."
Enjoy and read or listen to it alone in dim or no lighting. I can't wait for the next one.

Rating: Summary: Abook you won't want to put down. Review: Peter David has done it again! Q-Squared is a fantastic book with a plot that will make you not want to put it down. A fair piece of warning though, be sure to have your wits about you. Q-Squared is not the type of book to read before bedtime, its many twists and turns will make you want to take an afternoon off from work to read this
Rating: Summary: READ IT Review: I am not going to say anything except this.
THIS BOOK IS PRIORITY! When you read it, John De Lanicie's voice as "Q" is ringing in your head. David has GREAT Charecter depth.
The plot is VERY good. My suggestion is read it in 2 days. Otherwise, you might get lost.
Rating: Summary: This is one of the best Trek books ever written!! Review: Peter David has always written good Trek books, but this one will
astound you. The character interaction is wonderful, Q is his
normal self, and the plot line is intriging. The book is long and
quite involved, but everything in there needs to be right where it's
at. If you love the adventures of the Enterprise-D you will absolutely
drool over this story. If I may also say, well done Peter David!!
