Rating: Summary: BRILLIANT!! Review: This is the greatest Star Trek book i have ever read (and probably the best i ever will read too). It is slightly confusing, but I think that adds to the story. It would be hard to understand if you hadn't seen the Star Trek the original series episode about the squire of Gothos, and some of the later episodes about Q from The Next Generation.
Rating: Summary: The great Peter david has done it again Review: It was this book that turned me into a Peter David fan. This has it all action, romance, suspence, humor all of the things that make the best Treks. He takes what could have easily become a confusing mess and turns it into a seamless patteren. This is by far his best work to date
Rating: Summary: Peter David and Q-SQUARED are DA BOMB DIGGITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: For true fans of Star Trek and all its incarnations this book makes you think about the old Vulcan motto IDIC; infinite diversity in infinite combinations. The novel shows you all the possiblities there are in the Trek Universe. If you read this book and dislike it then there is something definitely wrong with you. Sure it's a bit of a departure from Peter David's lighter novels but this book is one heck of a satisfying read. If you want to know what could have happened if Tasha Yar or Jack Crusher didn't die then this is the book for you. Peter David just rules!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Was Q really connected to Platypus? Review: This book is great! Peter David is a very good writer! I am always interested in the stories of parallel universes in Star Trek stories. Peter David brought them nicely with Q. And someone who can defeat Q? Plus the humor added such as Q's comments on Worf. A really good novel that makes you want to read it again and again!
Rating: Summary: Q-SQUARRED Review: This book has the perfect title. Cause it is exactly that Q comes back to the Enterprise seeking help from Picard with a child Q named Trelane,he came out in the original Star Trek show with Captain Kirk, to help him teach Trelane, and Picard laughed in Q's face. Though in the end of course he agrees now Trelane is aboard the Enterprise and is causing just about as much trouble that Q could cause. This a some what confusing book, but the challenge in reading it makes it that much better. You can get alittle confused with all the jumping tracks and especially confused when they derail. You would have a good time reading this book and an even better time trying to understand it. I would recomend this book to all who like satr trek because it is a good book written by a great author. Try it, you'll like it
Rating: Summary: A Complicated Yet Unusually Rich Trek Story Review: A good read. Peter David manages to weave original series material and Next Generation material very well. At one point, I did give up trying to track all the various versions of all the characters. It must have been a nightmare for the editor to proofread this. I also listened to the audio version. In some ways I enjoyed that version a little better because it cut out some of the contrived scenes in which variants of Next Generation characters have an opportunity to explain why they are where they are in their respective realities. If you are unfamiliar with both the original series and Next Generation, you will have a very hard time getting through this.
Rating: Summary: A Well-Done Scientific Thriller! Review: Q-Squared presents an old science-fiction premise of alternate universes and gives it new twists. It's a novel that every Star Trek fan must read, because every possibility the crew could have turned erupts upon itself. Watching the crew encountering their opposites was a realistically fabricated plot. And the climax with the chaos caused by all three (plus more) timelines overlapping into one is a well-written and intense event. Q-Squared is an excellent science-fiction story, with technical details that we love, mixed with a suspenseful storyline.
Rating: Summary: Best Star Trek novel ever! Review: This novel shows Peter David at his best. Not only are the storylines intriguing, they are also seamlessly woven together. I was on the edge of my seat when trying to figure out how Q and Picard would be able to trounce Trelane. I've often heard this trite saying, but I literally "could not put this book down." For other great ST novels by David, check out Imzadi and Q-Squared (where Q tries to court Lwaxana Troi!)
Rating: Summary: Best book I've ever read, hands down. Review: Forget about the best STAR TREK book I've ever read; this was the best BOOK I've ever read, PERIOD!!! I would LOOOOOVVVEE to see this one as a movie, although it is so complex that it would be almost impossible to do. The special effects would rule, though. ;)
Rating: Summary: Awesome Squared!!! Review: Q-Squared is by far the best Star Trek novel that I've ever read. Every page leaves the reader breathless, by the exciting action and the beautiful language. The stream-of-consiousness format that was used to describe Q's thoughts was both brilliant and original. It was nice to finally make Q the good Q, at least for a while. YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK!!
