Summary: Peter David IS On A ROLE!!!
Review: Q- Squared was magnificent!! It has a wonderful storyline that will have you laughing and crying and cheering all at once. In story A,not only is Jack Crusher alive but he and Beverly are divorced,Wes is dead, and she's having steamy secret relationship with Jack's first officer and very best friend,Jean-Luc Picard with whom Bev had a one-night stand with many years ago.OUCH!! When Q and his godson show up and Trelane tells Jack the truth all hell breaks loose. Story B has our ENTERPRISE studying a wormhole and helping Q watch Trelane. Story C is a military ENTERPRISE at war with the Klingons. When Trelane joins all these "realties" not only does hell break loose it's Pandemoniom! I won't give the ending but if you like STTNG novels that have a little something for all fans, this is for you.

Summary: Simply the best of its kind
Review: Typically, I do not enjoy Star Trek books. Mainly for one reason, few authors remain true to the characters. I cannot tell you how many times I have read a Star Trek/Star Wars book and thought to myself, "that is NOT what Captain Picard, Han Solo, ect. would do!"

To begin, I am a huge Star Trek fan, and I am also one of the few who admit to being a Q fan. However, to my disappointment, as the television series has progressed, I noticed that slowly my favorite character evolved from possibly the greatest villian of all time to just another one of the "good guys." I did not like this at all. So when I recieved this book for my birthday four years ago, I was skeptical. After reading it, I changed by mind. The author, though not really writing Q as the great villian he once was, did a wonderful portrayal of Q nontheless. Not since "Encounter at Farpoint" have I ever found such a great portrayal of Q. What that basically means is, Peter David wrote Q even better than GENE RODDENBERRY! Need I say more? But it does not stop there, the other characters were very well written, and Peter David remained to their personalities from the television series. Whether you are a Q fan, or merely a Star Treck fan, this is the best book you will find.

Summary: READITREADITREADITREADIT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: Picture it...Jack Crusher isn't dead, he's captain of the Enterprise. His first officer, Jean-Luc Picard is involved in a steamy love affair with Crusher's ex-wife, Beverly. And his son Wesley died a tragic death years ago. But things could always be worse. He could be Deanna Riker, who's spent the past six years wondering if her husband was dead or alive. Plus, she's had a son to worry about...8 year old Tommy, who's at the very least a handful. Or he could've been a prisoner of war for six years...nearly seven. But none of this occurs to him. Trelene has shown him the truth, and he wants revenge.

That's only one aspect of this absolutely wonderful book. It's complex and confusing, but that's all part of the charm. A lot of the main characters die, so that's a change of pace. But fair warning:watch Yesterday's enterprise first. And be prepared to not put this book down!

Summary: What a mind-trip...
Review: Readers, as you've seen before, do not expect to put this book down easily. One of my friends read this on a flight to and then back from LA to Maine, two others read it in two days. Keep in mind: the first 40 or so pages are a reeeal mess. I almost put it down. But I hung in at the beginning and the next thing I knew, the pages were flying by. If you like this type of book, with crossing universes and temporal distortions of all types, I highly recommend Peter David's "Imzadi" and "Imzadi II" as well. However, set aside a rainy day for this one because you will NOT want to put it down.

Summary: The warning was true!
Review: This is a great book that I have now read at least five times. Unfortunately the first time I read it I did not heed the warning in the Acknowledgements/Author's note (I can't remember which) Where Peter David warns that the book is very hard to put down. I started reading at 9:00pm one night and although I tried to stop I finished the story around 3:00 am (yes I had school the next morning)

Please don't let this deter you from reading this complex and excellent story (at least once)Just be sure you have time to get into it as it can be confusing at first.

Enjoy!

Summary: Great (as usual)
Review: Loved the book --- as usual, since Peter David is easily the best of the Next Generation novel writers. I only have one complaint (excuse me while I mount this soapbox)...

How come every unusual event in the galaxy gets attributed to Q? There's a dangerous tendency among shared-universe writers to try to make connections between different stories, and this is a prime example. The universe used to be full of exciting, interesting, unusual things... but not any more. It's all just Q playing tricks. Makes for a more boring universe, if you ask me.

(Off my soapbox now.) In spite of what I just said, this is a great story definitely worth reading!

Summary: I couldn't put it down!
Review: Being a Q fan, I had to pick up this book. I found myself confused by the first couple of chapters but once I understood what was going on, I had no trouble following along. I love the way he portrayed Q's more...how shall we say... human side in this book, especially at the end. Very good book. Thought provoking and funny at the same time. I'd recommend.

Summary: Peter David is the captain of the next-gen ship!
Review: This book was truly interesting as it was the first time Q truly was invovled in a major Next-Gen hardcover. The book was well-scripted and not at all confusing, contrary to the opinions of most. I find the idea of the multiverses intriguing and the manner in which Peter David wrote it was just about as satisfying as it gets. The book was extremely credible and the way the characters moved throughout the book can be believable to an actual Next-Gen episode. Peter David's skill for telling a good and satisfying Next-Gen story is unequalled in the entire guild of authors which ST:TNG has to offer.

Summary: Very good
Review: Being a fan of the infamous Q, I picked up this book because it was obvious from the title that he was involved. The time track thing was a little hard to follow-but I was able to sort it out after the second time through. It was quite entertaining and the ending shows a-gasp-human side to Q. I thoroughly enjoy Peter David's writing and eagerly await more.

Summary: This was a great book.
Review: This book was never boring for a second. Wesley is dead, Dr. Crusher dies, and so does Jack Crusher. If Riker died, this book would deserve SIX stars. All this track-shifting keeps your attention focused. Tasha Yar is just as entertaining in alternate time tracks. Troi and Rikers's kid is funny. Trelane's a good villan. All the criteria makes a great book.
