Summary: Classic Tech Refresher Course
Review: Battletech Technical Readout: Project Phoenix is, in essence, a refresher course for both new players and one of the first generations of Battlemechs. It doesn't carry near as much quantity as other TROs (Perhaps less than a fourth of the units of other TROs), but makes up for it by bringing back twenty five 'Mechs phased out by FASA during the Harmony Gold legal problems, giving them both revised looks, in-story justified by company redesigns, and (a first for any TRO) multiple configurations for each 'Mech. It's not nearly as good as the original (and long out of print) printings of Technical Readouts 3025 (Which bore the original versions) and 3026, but is still a worthy addition.

Summary: Finally
Review: Something I've been wishing for since they lost the rights to the original drawings. These were always my favorite mechs in Battletech. I started playing battletech well before the arrival of the clans, and these were THE mechs. Anyway, the drawings are great, and the overall explanation for the redesigns is good enough. I don't like some of the weapons/equipment loadouts, but that is what mech editors are for. I only wish they could have done this sooner so that these designs wouldn't have been phased out of the novel line. Probably won't see them much in the new Darkage novels.
