Summary: Much clearer
Review: SR3 clears up a lot of things, but I am disappointed in the new treatment of initiative. Though deemed unfair by some, the old Sr2 system seemed more logical. In that if you were twice as fast as someone else, it only makes sense that they may not get to go if you beat the bejesus out of someone first. Oh well . . . Otherwise it is a terrific version of my favortie game.

Summary: Much Improved
Review: The 3rd edition is much better than 1st and 2nd edition. As usaual they do not make major changes to the system. Just subtle changes to make the game play more balanced. They also do a better job of explaining concepts than in previous editions. Defintely worth the price.

Summary: Easy to learn and fun to play!
Review: The 3rd version of Shadowrun Role Playing Game is great! It is well written and is very easy to understand and remember. It has added a few new rules to make the game more fun and realistic and is definitly a great choice for avid RPGers or people that have never tried them before! To fully understand and be able to allow the gameplay flow, the Game Master should read ALL the rules and memorize the most important ones, bottom line: It might take a 4-6 hours to learn everything, but it is well worth it.

Players feel imersed in a land of crime, shadows, magic and intense situations. I especially find it cool that it's most set in Seattle, me being from Washington. Reality seems to blend with unreality well and all the technological devices seem plausible. If you have a few freinds willing to spend a few hours to immerse themselves in a world of action and suspense, then I recommend this game wholeheartedly!

Summary: Excellent re-work of an astounding system!
Review: The incorportaion of a point system character generation is the wave of the future. It allows for greater flexibility in generation and evens out the palying field. Lord help the Dwarven mage at the beginning of a campaign.

Much need rule enhancements like staging up damage, etc.

Summary: A vast improvement over the original and second editions.
Review: The new edition is a great improvement in almost every department... and it is obvious a lot of thought went into producing it. I would say that almost all of the changes are for the better, in fact, I might go as far as to say all of them. Its well organised I thought... and very easy to understand. I have noticed a few misprints and ommisions (Such as the price for spell formulae and the Specialisation example in the skill section). But other than that a top notch purchase.

Summary: Mixed Blessing
Review: The new Shadowrun 3rd edition has many new improvements and clarifications. Including revisions to combat and the magic system. It also has a problem with organization and "user-friendliness". Much of the book is not ordered in a way for easy play and reference. I am forced to have to memorize much more of the book because of this. Unless you are already experienced with Shadowrun, it will take some time before you can begin playing the 3rd Edition.

Summary: An excellent revision
Review: The only flaw i found in this book was a lack of an updated map. This book is excellent, FASA has really outdone themselves this time. It adds so much more depth and realism to an already great world. They revised the writing in the book and it reads great. A must have for any who truly love the shadowrun RPG.

Summary: This is a really good book
Review: This book is a great thing. It's got all of the information that you could possibly ever need. It's got magic, matrix, combat, magical combat, matrix combat..... everything. I must admit that sometimes it's a little confusing to read, but It's still really good. Now for those of you that aren't exactly bent on buying this, I wouldn't buy it yet. Wait til third edition comes out. It should have better pictures (unlike the strange eighties punks in the drawings in the book now) and better rules for magic and skills. It's really cool, so if you want to start a SR campaign, or just undestand one better, I think that you really need this book. I played the wrong way for about two years, because my friend who owns the book lost about the first half of it, and this helped a lot.

Summary: AWESOME
Review: This book is a great way to enjoy some time with you friends. The shadowrun universe is fun, exciting, climatic, and is full of suspense. This rule book lets you become the man behind the corpoartion and you and your friends have a great time adventuring. The book is in an easier to understand dialog and explains the rules step by step. THis is at the top of my list of Role playing games, and at the top of my favorite things to do list. I recommend this to anyone who is willing to take the time and read it and learn the rules, and enjoy themselves.
