Summary: A real great game
Review: Normally, I don't like cyberpunk. But Shadowrun, which has a cyberpunkish setting, has two things I really like. One, the rules work really well and fit together nicely. Two, Shadowrun adds fantasy elements to the mix giving it a feel quite different from other cyberpunk games. The Second Edition got rid of a lot of the kinks that were in the first so now it runs more smoothly. However, the Second Edition is minus the 2050s slang dictionary. Oh well.

Summary: Messy and Confusing
Review: Poorly written and a poor layout make this extremly difficult for newbies to play shadowrun. If you're new to shadowrun just pick up the shadowrun quickstart book. Hopefully FASA will do a complete revision of shadowrun in the next edition to make it more user-friendly and comprehendable to newbies and veterans alike.

Hardly worth the money.

Summary: With out a doubt one "Shadowrun" is my favoriot RPG ever!
Review: Run in the shadows between Mega-Corperations for pay. Be a mage in a era of computers. Flip your Smart-Link on and target your enemy with your Ingram warrior sub-machine gun. Hear the sound of gun shots as you drive your van packed full of shadowrunners just waiting to take on a corp. Be a rigger and remotly help your team. These are all options in "Shadowrun" the Role Playing Game. Defienetly one of the best ways to spend a saturday night with freinds. Run a long campain, or a three hour session with all your freinds. Best of all, enjoy being the game master, the man pulling all the strings for the players

Summary: Shadowrun 3rd Edition Much better
Review: Shadowrun 3rd edition rocks, the rules are much much simpler than the first two, and there are many cool additions. Although I just wish Amazon had a hardcover of the third edition. It would be alot better. Well this is a definite must

Summary: A great update to an excellent game
Review: Shadowrun has always been one of my favorite campaigns to play in. The third edition of this game is a vast improvement over its previous incarnations. The are format of the book is excellent, and the rules are well written and very easy to understand. Beginning and advanced role-players can easily start playing after a few minutes of reading the basic rules. Shadowrun is a very versatile game in which you can pretty much play whatever you want within reason. So... if you like elves, trolls, dragons, magic and technology all wrapped up into one great world, this is the game for you!

Summary: Good, but not worthy of an entirely new edition
Review: Shadowrun is a good Role-Playing Game, but not due to the third edition. The Game was already good in the second edition and I just didn't find enough updates to explain the new edition. There's not enough gear and it is truly a shame that the new character creation systems from the compendium weren't included. There has also been some minor deterioration in the index and layout. Still, as a first Shadowrun book it is still good.

Summary: The Next Level
Review: Shadowrun is one of those roleplaying games that evolves. I've been a player since the first edition hardcover and I've seen all the changes. The 3rd edition is more user-friendly, faster, easier to pickup, better. Combat is still nasty only cleaner and easier on non-Samurais, the magic rules have more feeling though they're less powerful, the rigger and decker sections are the best yet and even the gear is a great improvement. Bad points are no critters (have to buy the screen 4 that) and contacts (I get the idea they know we GMs don't use their archetypes so they've slashed these down to basics). Better written, better explained and ..... the history, there's no game quite like it. Where else can a dwarf run a corp, a dragon run for President and a human run from cybered up Gangsters. FASA, please keep this up! [synner@ucas.online -2060.02.24]

Summary: On the cuting edge for the Year 2K
Review: Sr 3rd ed is greatley improved overy its predassors. With an enhanced readers point of view in mind this book is everything one would need to start thier own game. The rule has been clerfied and simplified over the cumlesy and hard to find rules from 2ed. A defniate must buy.

Summary: Messy and Confusing
Review: SR3 clears up a lot of things, but I am disappointed in the new treatment of initiative. Though deemed unfair by some, the old Sr2 system seemed more logical. In that if you were twice as fast as someone else, it only makes sense that they may not get to go if you beat the bejesus out of someone first. Oh well . . . Otherwise it is a terrific version of my favortie game.
