Summary: Perfect adaptation of a perfect movie
Review: In The Beginning proved to be far greater than the movie, while still paying tribute to it. It describes more of the background behind the characters, including a conversation between Sheridan and Sinclair, what happend to the captain of the Prometheus, and what was meant by "A wall of Bodies" in one of the episodes. It also gives the entire story a very personal touch, being told by Londo Molari.

Summary: Review Babylon 5 in the Beginning
Review: In the movie I had trouble understanding what was happening, the book cleared it all up. I bought the book because Peter David had written it and was amazed how at how well it was written. I loved some of the quotes Londo used to describe Huamns, and find myself repeating them. This is one of Peter David's best.

Summary: It kicked Butt!
Review: Peter David is a wonderfull author and this is a wonderfull book. There was however one part that was contridicted in To Dream in the City of Sorrows, but that don't matter. I loved it. It had way more stuff then the movie did, and it was all good.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A greatest book I've ever read after the Bible
Review: Peter David really knows what he's doing. The book was so beautiful, that I'm gonna read it again and again.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Can't say much more than everyone else
Review: Peter David's STAR TREK novels tend to be some of the best in that genre because he really understand the characters. The same thing is true in his Babylon 5 adaptation. Detail that did not appear in the movie, some interesting hints about what will happen to Sheridan, Delenn and their son, the coincidental
similarity betwenn Helen (of Troy ) and Delenn,
and a sure-fire way to out stare anybody. What more could you ask for? One of David's best novels ever.

Summary: The best gap filling Babylon 5 book ever written
Review: The movie "In the Beginning" has not yet been shown in my country and that is why I can not compare the book with the movie. Besides, I don't feel a good book should be compared with the movie it is based on. "In the Beginning" is a wonderful book. It keeps in line with almost everything in the Babylon 5 universe. Characters, dates, places, occurences, it all feells right. Any B5 fan, who has seen all of the show, such as myself, would feel at home. Although it is regretable that gaps in the story arc are filled in movies and books instead of in the show itself, the book is a "must read" for any one who wants to truly understand what led to the creation of the Babylon project, what really happened in the Earth-Minbari war and how it all comes together. Very important info is passed along in the book. The story itself is well written, fluent and enjoyable. I most deffinetly recommend!

Summary: Peter David does a great job. . .
Review: The tv-movie this is based on is great, but look to this book for extra insights and details. Paper backs are really affordable at the moment, so if you have a few dollars, why not get this for your B5 collection? I've read it several times, Peter David is a great writer so this book is never boring. If you loved the tv-movie, this book is a great companion!

Summary: Brilliant read, couldn't put it down.
Review: This book was an amazing read. It had some fascinating insights to the backstory and was so well-written that I really couldn't put it down. I read it during the course of a day and night and would happily read it again. From my point of view, if you take the film "In the Beginning", that really was a story for the fans as it was heavily arc-related and finally told the story that had been lying quietly in the background for five years. And so the book is the same, and I was expecting that. Overall, it was brilliantly done and I certainly don't regret buying it. Thanks JMS for coming up with such a fascinating universe, and let's hope to see more great B5 novels in the future. (I can't wait for all of the Dark Genesis Trilogy, from what I've heard, this is amazing!)

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent book
Review: This was better than the movie, only because it was had more room to fill in details, draw our attention to small touches, and give more of an internal view of the characters. Peter David seems to have a real feel for the characters within the Babylon 5 universe, and there are no jarring notes struck throughout the book.

If only the Dell series of books had been able to approach this general quality of writing.
