Rating: Summary: The return of the evil drow Review: This is the 3rd book in "The Legacy of the Drow" series. In this book the evil drow city finally plans a good attack against the Drizzt and his friends. The war that was started in "The Legacy" continues, but now the biggest battle begins. The Drow make it to the surface and all hell has broken loose. The evil spider queen is now living only to see the traitor Drizzt dead. The Drow now flow to the surface and attack where the companions of the hall least expect it. From under them. Now the drow flow to the surface and make an attack that few will get out of. This is a must have for the series and for any fan of Drizzt or the Drow. Dont miss this great part of the series.
Rating: Summary: this book drew me into fantasy Review: this was the first fantasy novel I read, since then I have read dragonlance riftwar wheel of time tolkien, you name it. there are better novels out there but this fun.
Rating: Summary: best book of the menzoberranzan saga Review: To whom it may concern,i only recently started to read fantasy books and i have to say r. a. salvatore is the best author i have read. The iteractions betweenDrizzt and artemis Entreri are wonderful comparisons of two completely different personalities.Salvatores books leave, many questions unanswered.Who is Jarlaxle and what are his true motivations?I would like to see the author do a series of books detailing Jarlaxle's rise to power and detailing his past life before he became a houseless rogue.I love the character and think he deserves his own series.maybe it could detail more encounters with the duergar and svirfneblin.
Rating: Summary: IT COULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH BETTER! Review: WHEN I READ THIS BOOK, I HATED THE WAY DRIZZT COMES ACROSS TO CATTI-BRIE, EVEN TO BRUENOR; AS A CONDENSENDING LITTLE PRICK. DON'T GET ME WRONG, I LOVE DRIZZT AND ALL HIS ADVENTURES BEFORE THAT WHERE GREAT! IT'S JUST THAT THROUGH THE WHOLE BOOK HE REMINDS ME MORE OF HIS KIN THAN THE GOOD OL' DRIZZT WE'VE ALL COME TO KNOW AND LOVE. BUT, ON A BETTER NOTE, I HAVE TO SAY THAT SALVATORE WAS A GENIUS AT THROWING IN THE HARPELLS AND WONDERFULLY PORTRAYS THE DWARVES ACTIONS TOWARDS THEM. I PERSONALLY THOGHT HE OVER DID IT WITH THE PORTRAYAL OF MEZOBERRANZAN AND THE DIFFERENT HOUSES. I MEAN, HOW FAR CAN YOU STREACH THE BASIC PLOT OF:
TIME OF TROUBLES COMES, MAGIC BECOMES UNSTABLE, HOUSE OBLODRA DOESN'T LOSE PSIONICS SO THEY PLOT TO MOVE AGAINST BAENRE AND BECOME HOUSE #1, BAENRE FIGHTS BACK, AND BAENRE
(AS USUAL) DESTROYS HOUSE #3. AND THIS THING ABOUT ATTACKING MITHRIL HALL!!!?? AND THAT SWORD? WHY DIDN'T DRIZZT GET RID OF IT WHEN HE HAD THE CHANCE? BUT ALL IN ALL, IT WAS A GOOD BOOK AND EVERYTHING TURNS OUT SEMI-WELL IN THE END.
Rating: Summary: Oh man! Review: Wow. That's about all I can say. Salvatore really was awesome... again. This book combines all that you have come to love in the other books about Drizzt, and best of all... is just about pure action. I mean, wow. This book is amazing and you'll probably end up laughing to yourself like I was, just thinking about how awesome it is.
Rating: Summary: Salvatore truly a bard amongst us Review: Yet another outstanding book. The fights are untouchable in this one , big fights and little skirmishs. 3 books in a row that have been outstanding fight scences. another book that almost rivals homeland...almost.dont know why none of the books match up to homeland, maybe thats the first book i read in the series, even though the icewind dale triology was published first? at any rate...ok....Favorite character for this book...Guenhwyvar, finallly Guen gets it. Gotta love her. another fine salvatore book, a must read to all. Hat once again goes off.
