Rating: Summary: Captures the feel of Dragonlance perfectly Review: I'm a newcomer to Krynn, and ended up reading the original Dragonlance books fairly recently. Spirit felt exactly right -- all of the characters acted as they "should" in a snappy and enjoyable plot. Having seen other authors' interpretations of this world and its denizens, Pierson's seem more truthful, more believable and more enjoyable.I wonder if he read Dragonlance as a kid?
Rating: Summary: Pretty good but... Review: It was pretty good as a whole, and I liked the part of the fight on the ship but this style of book is more genarly for the Forgotten Realms series where half the story is descriptions on how everybody dies brutally. I liked what they did with kenders, though making them an actual race and not just nuisences brouight in sometimes for comic release. Kenders are my favorite race and I was somewhat disapointed at the way they were describing all the cruel things the Ogres were doing to the kenders. The positive things were that all in all the storyline was really good! The main characters were well done although it is a pity that they had to die. It also reveals more about kender than was known before, such as there weapons. I do recommend this book to someone who likes action and kender.(but not to much, cause it is depressing)
Rating: Summary: Couldn't be happier Review: It's been a real thrill to write for Dragonlance, as I pretty much grew up with it. Being able to carve out my own little niche in Krynn, and to be given a chance to work with one of the original Companions, was a true honor. The best part, though, is finding out how much people have liked Spirit. I'd always hoped my first book would be a success, and seeing people's comments, on Amazon and elsewhere, is wonderful for the old ego, I can tell ya. Thanks to everyone who's bought the book and enjoyed it. My second Dragonlance novel, Dezra's Quest, will be out in June. I hope you like it too. And to those of you who dream of writing someday, for DL or otherwise -- keep at it. I'm sure glad I did.
Rating: Summary: A great book Review: Its so sad to see him go, but this was a great one
Rating: Summary: very good book! Review: Normaly I only read DL books from MW and TH, since everything else is awfull. But this book was surprisingly very good. The story tells about riverwinds last adventure as he works to save kendermore from an army of ogres and an evil dragon. The story is very sad, and many of the characters die, but it is original, well written, with nice plot twists and is very entertaining. Chris Pierson did a great job here! I just have 1 compliant. Why is it that the evil army is always so large. In this book, an army of 10,000 ogres attacks kendermore. Can you immagine the absolute impossibility of feeding that many ogres? How did an army that large suddenly appear? Where were the knight of solamnia? Wouldnt most of these ogres have died in the chaos war? Still, great book.

Rating: Summary: The first Dragonlance book in ages with the proper feel. Review: Probably since I put down 'Dragons of Summer Flame', none of the books I've read--especially the ones by Rabe--have had the distinctive Dragonlance feel that drew me to the saga in the first place. Chris Pierson makes a stunning debut, taking a story with a known ending and making the lead-up emotive, interesting and traditional, and leaving no doubt as to who won in the confrontation between Riverwind and Malystryx.
Rating: Summary: One of the better Dragonlance novels Review: The best novels in the Dragonlance series are undoubtedly the ones written by the original authors - Margret Weiss and Tracy Hickman. Everything else just seemed like imitators playing in the same yard. Some books in the series do stand out of the pack, and 'Spirit of the Wind' is definately one of them. The story centers around Riverwind, one of the original characters from the first trilogy in the series. Riverwind is dying, and decides to leave the world not in a bed, but in battle. He volunteers himself to aid two poor souls in their attempt to defend their homeland against a hideous dragon. It's a story of sacrifice and bravery, and is very well written. At times it seemed to steal from David Gemmell's excellent book 'Legend', but all in all quite a pleasure to read.
Rating: Summary: the loss of riverwind Review: This book is about the last deed of Riverwind, the Hero of the Lance. The death of Riverwind was casually mentioned in the books by Jean Rabe. It tells of the destruction of Malys's egg. The story also comes from the viewpoint of Malystrx's mate for a short time. Two new kender character are also introduced. The story is very sad and is more tragic then most of the other Dragonlance novels. But the story is still very good and has very good plot and character development.
Rating: Summary: Great book! Review: This book was great!! I loved it mainly because it had Riverwind and the race of the kender. It was sad when Riverwind's daughter died but I knew that Riverwind's death was coming. I would have done the same thing I was him. Go help the kender. Because if I was going to die I wouldn't want to die on a bed but fighting. (If I was on Krynn) This was a very good book.
