Rating: Summary: A Test of Klingon Honor Review: The last book left Klag of the IKS Gorkon giving his word to defend the Children of San-Tarah against the honorless Klingon General Talak. To have any real chance to do so Klag calls on the members of the Order of the Batleth to respond to defend Klingon honor. The story that ensues in is an action packed book that pits Klingon against Klingon while continuing to develop the characters of the Gorkon. Those who enjoy reading about Klingons will not be disappointed by this book. It is a page burner that just cant be put down. I highly recommend it for a pleasant afternoon or evening of reading.

Rating: Summary: Epic, but not as entertaining as Book 1 Review: This book has essentially two main story lines: the space battle and the ground battles. The long-running space battle is epic and I enjoyed it. The ground combat section I did not really like. I am not sure if it was the author's actual intent, or just the effect of the history books I read before this, but the ground combat had the shade of war instead of duelling: the aura of being a miserable slog, even for Klingons. It wasn't that for this reader, fortunately, but it was not enjoyable. Also, the emphasis was on describing the characters rather than the fighting, and to me that did not fit the circumstances. Finally, what I was afraid of from book 1 appears to be coming true: the author is killing off interesting characters faster than he is introducing new ones. If he insists on doing detailed descriptions of people, they should be more interesting, and more often about characters still alive by the end of the book. All in all, the good features definitely outweigh the bad ones - that space battle was really good - but this book was only very good, not great, and the author can do better.
Rating: Summary: Another home run for Keith DeCandido! Review: With "Honor Bound", Keith DeCandido hits another home run out of the park and shows us what honor is truly all about. One of the must-read books of the year! :)
