Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Walk On By This "Section" Review: As a Star Trek fan of many years, one thing that I value when reading a Trek novel (or any novel based on a TV show) is that I can mentally "see" the characters. It's important to me that I can visualize them doing the situations the writers have put them in and to "hear" them saying the dialogue. Sadly, this was not the case for this book. I felt I was reading about characters simply with the names of characters from Voyager, not the characters themselves. I don't think the authors watched the same show I used to watch, if they ever watched it all all. While the plot is interesting, any suspenseful elements it could have materialized never did and it left me with a feeling that I'd have had more excitement reading a JC Penney's catalog. The resolution to the alien's plight was typical of all poorly written Trek episodes and book: it was wrapped up in the last 10 pages of the book quickly. A very "scotch tape" ending. No drama, no suspense, no nail bitting "oh my gosh" ending. Thud. The aliens characters were two dimensional. I could have cared less if they lived or died. Even the elements of "first contact" were downright bland. Lastly, as a Seven Of Nine fan, I was intrigued by the idea that someone was out to kill her. This was my main reason for purchasing the novel. The solution to the attacks on Seven were downright uninventive. I saw it coming pages before. Simply a subtle rehashing and "tweaking" of tired Trek plots. While I didn't throw it across the room in disgust, it'll be the first Star Trek novel I have sold used in quite a while. If you're a Seven of Nine fan, jog past this "section" You won't be missing out on anything.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: As Spock would say, "fascinating". Review: At the beginning of this book events don't seem to connect, but bear it out, because it turns out to be interesting. The author really captured the characters' moods and phrasology.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: One of the top 5 Voyager books out there ... Review: Come on, people. Anyone who is really into the Voyager books will tell you that this is probably one of the best ones out there, not deserving a measly 2 or 3 star rating which some people have unfairly given it. The plot can be read in the other reviews, but let me get one thing straight: if you don't know about Section 31, don't read this book without at least reading the DS9 equivalent, "Abyss". Otherwise, you'll find it to be a cheap tacked-on invention (which to most ignorant people it will be). Overall, this a great one, and I finished it in less than a day.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Good story. Wrong title Review: Eventhough this was a very good story line and all, the title and that fact that it is part of this whole Section 31 series seems out of place. The book has nothing to do with Section 31 until the very end when there's a sort of "Oh, by the way..." type thing from Seven of Nine where she tells about Section 31. That's it. Just a paragraph or two...
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: A waste of time Review: For those of you who are envisioning a book of mystery and intrigue about a statuesque ex-borg versus the autonomous cut-throat section 31 of the federation, prepare to be disappointed. This is just another story about a humanitarian mission that Voyager goes on. The Section 31 agent is not even ALIVE in this book. It was a waste of my money and I do not recommend it.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Recommended For All Review: I always read the back cover when purchasing a book. I liked it so I bought it. It took me just about no time to read this book. It is well written with a well developed plot.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Intriguing, well-written-worth adding to your "collection" Review: I can now see why this book was on the Best Sellers' shelf of Waldenbooks! The plot-line keeps you interested through out the book, and the text is quite well-written. One of the few books I've been able to stick with over a period of time, and definitely one of my favorite Voyager books. I would recommend this book for anyone who likes Voyager, good writing, and intriguing plot lines!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Seven's Opinion Review: I enjoyed this book because it proved once again that actions can actually affect people in opposite sides of the galaxy. The charcters seemed real, especially Seven of Nine whom I've never read a Voyager book with her in it before. It was suprising how long Section 31 was operating on Voyager and you never would've guessed the link between them. Very well written, showing both the best and worst traits of the Federation 5 stars and a must read.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: A Good Book Review: I enjoyed this boook as a whole. It kept me instested. There were 3 story lines. 1. Mysterious "asidents" are happening to Seven of Nine. 2. A sociaty without warp is trying to escape there solar system because thier sintists said the plant was going to blow up.(It did) And thier two suns were going to colide and anything within the solar will decompress or blow up ect... They have been taveling 8 years? or so and are not on thier own going to make it. Voyager is trying to help. 3. A meterorite hit the conony ship and the section cannot handel the damage and wounded like it sould be able to. A mother tries to save her childs life. The thrid story line didn't seem to fit in although it was well writen and gave the reader an insite into the colony ship. In all the book is hard to put down.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: This is Star Trek, not the X-Files.. Review: I find this whole idea of section 31 to be too X-Files-like and does not fit in with what Gene Roddenberry established about Star Trek over 30 years ago. I think this idea was created solely by some uncreative person at Paramount to cash in on the X-Files trend (which is over-rated to begin with), I think if they want to stay true to Star Trek, they should not come up with any more ideas like this.
