Summary: The velvet darkness of drow world has always amazed me
Review: As I expected, this book absolutely stunned me. The eerie beauty of drow is well brought out and every character here deserves to have a book written about him/her. Drizzt Do'Urden hasn't been my favourite creature in the Realms, but after reading the first book of the trilogy, I put him on top of the list and started adding the next two books to my shopping cart...

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One of the Best Fantacy Books Ever
Review: This book was great. I couldn't put it down, I would recommend it to anyone. It introduces the indescribely awesome ranger:Drizzt Do'Urden. The book takes you to the evil and mysterious city of Menzoberranzan where the evil Drow Elves carry on their obsession for power and the evil spiderqueen Lloth. You will love it.

Summary: Very good, fast-paced book
Review: A very entertaining book that moves along at a very rapid pace. I read all three books of the trilogy in about a week. Drizz't is a very interesting character and the world of Menzoberranzen is not your typical fantasy world, which is something I enjoy. The story is basically straightforward without a lot of big surprises or twists and turns. But, the Drow society and their lifestyle is fascinating.

Summary: The story of one of the Realm's most remarkable hero!
Review: This book is the start into a magical, dark, cruel and chaotic place - Menzoberranzan. City of the drow and birthplace of Drizzt Do'Urden. This book and the rest of the series describes Drizzt's way to the surface, his first steps in the realms and his way to Icewind Dale, the place he will call home. I have read all books of this series 'til now and I hope that I will never miss one. This - like any other book by R.A. Salvatore I have read 'til now - is a masterpiece of fantasy-literature. Written with passion this whole story contains so many realistic descriptions of action, fighting and movements that you can see Drizzt whirling his scimitars in the fights as if you would watch a movie - this is an absolutely incredible piece of writing and I want everybody to know, that the books about Drizzt are the best series I've ever read - and I have read some, and will read many more I'm sure, but I doubt that I will find one series able to compete with this one. I've read some of the books in German language and I have to say that the translator did a damn good job. So, that's all! Ciao - and let the Forgotten Realms never be forgotten!

Summary: Got me interested in reading fantasy books.
Review: Drizzt Do'Urden was a really interesting character to read about. He is exactly the kind of hero I like.... brave, trustworthy, compassionate and so unlike the rest of his evil race. Drizzt is a young dark elf who is different than his peers because he is caring and compassionate while other drow (short for dark elves) are evil and chaotic. He decides he has to leave his home, Menzoberranzen, so he can still uphold all his principles. This book is continued in Exile, the second of the series.

Summary: Excellent!
Review: Wow, this book is great! I really like the system of the dark elves because it is kind of like back in medieval times when there were several ruling houses that always were at war. Drizzt Do'Urden rules!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An Excellent Read!
Review: This book was recommended to me by a friend in class and I began to read it. It was my first fantasy book and after reading a few pages I was totally blown away! I liked the way Salvatore describes his battles in detail without boring the heck outta you! Highly recommended!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: I've read better.
Review: I have not read many of Salvatores books, only homeland and the demonwars trilogy, and I see reocurring things in the two stories. The characters of Elbryan Wyndon and Drizzt Do'Urden are very similar, both in personality and weapon prestige. I will not deny that this a great book, and I have read it many times over, Salvatore blends and intricately detailed city, a political struggle and a fight against conscience ina gripping and enthralling read. If you want to start reading Salvatore, then start with the demonwars trilogy. This is a great book but a mere shadow of the Demonwars.

Summary: The Best Book Ever Created!
Review: Wow!!!I never used to read until I read this. Then I read every other Drizzt novel through The Silent Blade. This is the best though. His amazing descriptions of battle and the city of Menzobaranzen kept me hooked and gave me a clear picture of what to base my imagination on.
