Rating: Summary: A thrilling tale of triumph and tragedy for the Elven People Review: Elaine Cunningham spins a most impressive tale behind the mysterious and magical People of the Green Island. The descriptions of the background are quite exquisite and the attention to AD&D game detail is very accurate. If you happen to have the game supplement as well, it is quite the treat to actually have the game stats and misc. background of the characters to mentally add to the storyline. It's quite a long tale, but every iota of detail delving into the rich history of the Tel' Quessir is worth reading.
Rating: Summary: terrific! Review: Elaine Cunningham's Evermeet is a sweeping epic that tells the complete history of the elves of The Forgotten Realms. It's filled with magic, mystery, and even the elven gods. Elaine also explains who the elves greatest enemy is, themselves. Do you self a favor, if you've been looking for good fiction that is based in the Forgotten Realms setting read all of Elaine's books. You won't be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful for any fan of Forgotten Realms! Review: Evermeet is a great book that I would recommend to anybody with high reading skills. Especially for fans of books with elves in them! I love the way that the book covers many milleniums, but it skips forward (or backward) too much, making it hard to follow. Other than that, it is one of the best books that I have read in a while!
Rating: Summary: I would expect more from Forgotten Realms Review: Evermeet, Island of the elves, is a very confusing book. It has several plots and scenerios unfolding all at once, making it difficult for a reader to follow along with Cunningham.I personally think this book should have been released as a book of elven short stories, as that is what it reads like. I certainly would expect more from Forgotten Realms, in general.
Rating: Summary: Very good, but sometimes confusing.. Review: Evermeet: Island of Elves was a very good book about the history of elves and their struggle to keep their rich culture and magic alive. It was sometimes confusing, with the author on land then would suddenly skip to another land. But it all forms together towards the middle and end. It is a very good book, don't hesitate to buy it right now!
Rating: Summary: The Long Awaited history of Faerun's Elves is here!!! Review: Finally! Elaine Cunningham has a novel about the history of the island evermeet and the elves who inhabitated it. It tells of how the elves go to the world of Toril, how the elves travel to Evermeet and how the Gods help them along the way. The history is fascinating and it has much inner-race battles between the gold and silver elves, which most humans of Faerun did not know was there. Elaine Cunningham is one of my favorite authors all because of the books she's done concerning elves, there nature, habits and describtions. This book is a MUST HAVE.
Rating: Summary: Great book and I wonder what will happen next ! Review: Greetings and congratulations Elaine Cunningham. Finally, someone has written the High History of the Elves of Faerun (and that is a big part of the whole Faerunian history). I enjoyed this book very much and I read it in two days. The only thing I didn't like that much was the "Spelljamming Incident", I think it was a bit "long-winded". But other than this, this book is an excellent piece of work, with many interesting characters and heroes so far unheard by everybody (Vhoori Durothil, Sharlario Moonflower). I hope someday we will see a sequel what happens next to the fascinating isle of Evermeet and to Prince Lamruil (An advice to prince Lamruil: Don't have children with Maura, because Half-Elves don't make good leaders for the elven People).
Rating: Summary: Could there be a better history of the Elven people? Review: Having an innate interest in Elves, I picked up Evermeet. I could not get the book out of my mind. I was drawn into the lives of the elves and how they became who the are. I found reading this book to be more enjoyable than exploring the country side of Italy. During an 8 day trip to Italy I spent most of my time reading Evermeet. I found myself drawn into the lives of the characters and was concerned with what would happen to them. The perfect way to explain this book, is to say it was like The Never Ending Story and I felt as if I was part of the story. I loved this book and highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: I LOVE THIS BOOK Review: I bought this book for my wife, she couldn't stop talking about it... so my brother took it home and he couldn't stop talking about it... so I picked it up and now I understand why. I was a fan of Elaine Cunningham's before and of Forgotten Realms and this is the best book that either has to offer.
Rating: Summary: Amlaruil isn't the Queen of Elves: Elaine Cunningham is! Review: I can't believe how impressed I was with this book. Truly an epic achievement by the author! There should be more books like this! Long, detailed, breathtaking, with deep and interesting characters... just sleek! Elaine Cunningham truly knows what to do with the lore of elves; also, the spelljammer spaceships were really a cool, just like the beginning with the elven gods and the reign of queen Amlaruil. To anyone who remotely likes the Forgotten Realms, you *must* buy this book.
