Summary: An unlikely hero in an outstanding finale
Review: Vir Cotto, Hero! Vir Cotto, Emperor! Of course, Babylon V fans knew that Vir would become Emperor after Londo. We also knew that G'Kar would kill Londo and that the capital city of Centauri Prime would be in flames. We also knew that Sheridan would be in time limbo. However, this book, which covers the years 2274-2278 tells us how we got to that point.

The Centauri, under the malevolent guidence of the Drakh, have been building their war machine and are just about ready to strike. Vir has been leading an underground that has cause minor irritation to the plans of Durla, and ultimately, the Drakh, but it didn't put an end to them. That is until Durla was at the final moment of triumph when the underground attacked Durla in his position of strength.

However, getting there, what was the trick. Along the way, there was intrigue, betrayal, and love both won and lost. This was a wonderful storyline, completely consistant with what we already knew about the Babylon V timeline. In fact, this novel fills in a lot of holes that were left in the series, especially considering that this covers the future from the perspective of the Babylon TV series, a future that we got only a glimpse of through prophecy and time distortions.

For the Babylon V fan, this entire trilogy is a must read. I will definately be reading some more Babylon V books, hoping they are as good as this series has been.

Summary: CLOSURE
Review: What can I say? After all these years, after all these joys, after all these sorrows, after all these trials, tribulations, turmoils, travails, and, alliteration fails me, yes, despair, it is finally done.

The supreme anti-hero, Londo, exits the stage.

I HIGHLY recommend you read this - Peter David has done a pretty good job (to my pleasant surprise, seeing how he has written all those Star Trek novels ad *nauseam*!) and it is, albeit, if "you are Londo", a final requiem, a final ending...

Sic transit Londo. Vive sempiternum, Londo.

Summary: There is none more tragic that Londo Molari
Review: When B5 ended, I felt certain that Londo Molari was actually the central character in Babylon 5. His descent into darkness, followed by his return to light was one of the most poignant character transformations in literature (and, yes, I think that some television can be considered literature). When he was subjected to the Drakh's will, the full tragedy of Londo was revealed. Not that I'm saying that Molari was a nice guy, but this trilogy more fully explores his motivations and shows that he was, truly, a tragic figure of Shakespearian proportions. Any fan of the series MUST read this series.

Summary: Finally, the rest of the B5 story (NO SPOILERS)
Review: With this final volume of the Centauri Prime trilogy, Peter David completes the story of Londo Mollari. I found the first two books in the series to be well-written and completely in tune with the feel of the Babylon 5 universe. But after feeling let down about the conclusion of the PsiCorps trilogy, I wondered if this book would also falter. But it does not. It fills in the gaps and takes us beyond what we've seen in stories like "War Without End" and "In the Beginning." The only negative is that this story wasn't filmed and televised.

Summary: Goodnight Sweet Prince(s)
Review: With this volume Peter David brings the Centauri trilogy to a close. This volume was bittersweet at best, the story line was excellent, but if you are a B5 fan then you already know the outcome.
What really drove the book for me was the last part, finding out exactly why John and Delenn were on Centauri Prime as was seen in "War Without End" and "In The Beginning", and G'kar's reason for being there as well. The characters were true to the show, although the character of David Sheridan needed to be fleshed out more.
Goodnight Londo and G'kar, may you be waiting with Sheridan, Lorien, and the rest for us to catch up with you out there... beyond the rim
