Rating: Summary: I have this book but.... Review: I am a Star Trek TNG fan, loved DS9 but pass on Classic and Voyager. I have a copy of this book which I love to show off and I won't stop you if you want to buy it. But... here are some of my thoughts. You learn Klingon you can only talk to other Trekkers, you learn Spanish, French or Japanese and the world will be yours. It automatically gives you a few thousand bucks extra in your monthly paycheck, it will get you more callbacks if you put it in your resume. You will open yourself to more people and you will never get lost in Europe. If you speak Japanese you are guaranteed a job in JFK's Airport... guaranteed. I love Star Trek... a lot... but I am a realist in this planet. Thank you.

Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: I recently found this little gem in a used book store. It's even signed with inscription by Marc Okrand. Whether or not that is authentic, one will never know. I believe this to be the first Klingon Dictionary. A great little book. I would definitely recommend this book to any Klingon enthusiast who can find it in a used book store or elsewhere.

Rating: Summary: A fun and challenging pasttime Review: I'm rather new to tlhIngan (Klingon) Hol (language). This book is the first and most important reference for the language. The book not only has a collection of words, but a detailed discussion of the the grammar of the language. Intricate and challenging, learning tlhIngan Hol is a great intellectual passtime.
Rating: Summary: Learn Klingon--The Easy Way Review: Linguist Marc Okrand was asked by the producers of Star Trek III, to expand on the Klingon language, first heard in Star Trek The Motion Picture. What came out of the request, not only influenced the feature films, but each of the spin off television series as well. When the first edition of The Klingon Dictionary saw print in 1985, legions of Trekkers (myself included) wanted to crack the secrets of the language--and the book allowed us to do that. Ater the Klingon race played a substantial role in the plot of Star Trek VI The Undiscovered Country, in 1991, a revised edition was warranted. The 92 edition features the same layout of the other versions. The book takes you from the sounds of Klingon, through all of the different types of words, to an actual mini dictionary of key words and phrases. Okrand wisely didn't try and tinker with the layout though, with tongue firmly in cheek-the idea of a book like this still makes for a fun read. The latest edition has 192 pages and is worth it for any would be Klingon warriors out there.
