Summary: Solid and Accurate
Review: Have you ever wanted to know where the Glythe Sector is? Or wondered what a M3-D2 droid was for? If you have then I highly recommend the Star Wars Encyclopedia by Stephen J. Sansweet, because it is filled with all things Star Wars-from movies, novels, comics and TV shows, (Though I suspect I would have been happier if it had no mention of the Ewoks/Droids cartoons). This is a high-quality publications and is presented hard cover format, making it an ideal addition to anyone's Star Wars library. It allows the reader to see what wonderful consistency that has been built up over the past 22 years within the universe-something that Star Trek can never boast about given how everything in that universe is entirely variable. Clear, easy to read entries are laid out naturally in alphabetical format for easy location, and it would make an a great tool for role players as well, making it is easy to find characters, places, vehicles, etc.

Summary: Excellent reference, but yet...
Review: I've read different reviews about this book, and the ratings are very close, so I could say the same things about it, such as good reference guide, good description of planets, people, weapons, etc, but yet..., when I started to read the book all its introduction and chronology are excellent following by the encyclopedia format, but I hoped to see at the end of the book some appendixes to show more in detail, for example, the exact number of Super-Star Destroyers in service at the time of the destruction of the Executor, and their names, or the big battles! , how many and what took part of them, like a quick reference, then refer to a more explain detail of the planet or moon in the encyclopedia, and more... to much to ask... or I have missed another reference out there! ...

Summary: Great Book of Star Wars knowledge
Review: Buy this book this is a must for any star wars fan!

Summary: Perfect source of information
Review: I got this book a few days ago and I think it is great. It is a perfect source of information for those who don't know very much about Star Wars or just aren't sure about something. This is the book I go to if I'm not sure about something. If for some reason you can't find what your looking for in this book the I would recomend one of the guides such as the guide to Planets and Moons, Vehicles and Vessels, Characters, Weapons and Technology, Droids or one of the versions to the Star Wars Universe.

Summary: Not perfect but still great!
Review: I noticed one mistake right away, one code used for telling where the info was from was SWHS i looked to see what it meant, but it was not there. My guess is it stands for Star Wars Holiday Special. This is the only one i found except for the cover, but who cares, i didn't notice it until i read other reviews. It had almost everything i looked up, some was to recent, but i didn't realize that. The pictures are great, i love seeing some of my favorite characters, from the novels, in color. oh, i have the Star Trek encyclopedia, this better. I've read at least 35 Star Wars books and i still didn't know half of this.

Summary: Could've been better
Review: I'll keep it short: this one could've been better. The descriptions of the topics are good, but a lot of the pictures just ruin the credibility of the subjects. There are simply too many cartoonish pictures in it. The credibility in Star Wars lies in the fact that everything looks used and the technology is made believable. And a lot of pictures in this book spoil it. If you compare it to, do I dare to say it, the Star Trek encyclopedia, the latter wins hands down. I have to admit it has far more photographic reference material, but the overall feel of that book is more believable (trust me, I'm not a Star Trek fan). If you look at the "Essential Guide" series, it's clear that it can be done with drawings instead of pictures. It's just a pity they didn't try any harder with the encyclopedia.

Summary: Incredible
Review: It's the most complete information of Star Wars you could find, it includes everything about the movies, cartoons, books and every star wars thing that existed before the encyclopedia was written, i hope they actualizade it from time to time, because it's written befor episode I and Darth Maul doesn't appear, the only low point of it is that there aren't much pictures, but you could get them on the visual dictionaries of star wars (they're great too)

Summary: Wondeful reference book
Review: This is a very good reference book. People have to understand that it's just a reference book; no reference book is perfect. Information tends to become outdated as new books are released, but this cannot be helped. The only solution would be to continue writing new ones constantly. Also, it is impossible to include EVERYTHING from the Star Wars universe. The book would be gigantic! I thought this book was very good, and the most complete Star Wars reference book available. Summary: An excellent resource book with only a few errors.
Review: Maybe an update will be released soon. To those who didn't like this book because of the cover. That art was originally seen on the Revenge of the Jedi poster for the movie Return of the Jedi. It was a good cover anyway

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great for amateur fans...
Review: This ia an overall good compilation of almost every star wars book, novel, movie, show, etc. It is very complete although the latest stuff is missing (but of course it was written before the new Star Wars Era). It has a couple of contradictions and confusions, but only hard core fans can actually recognize them. For the amateur it is a very good reference guide, and for the hard core fans it is just a great addition to the collection.
