Rating: Summary: A great book Review: OK I admit it, when I bought this book I thought...well I know it will be bad but I shall try it anyway. I was ambushed! This is a great book! I loved every word of it. The plot is well done, and written. The characters are well developed and lifelike. Overall just plain great!
Rating: Summary: Elaine Cunningham- Queen of the Elves Review: The first book in the much heralded and well deserved Songs & Swords series is simply one of the best novels in the Forgotten Realms line. For those of you who haven't yet read Elaine Cunningham...brace yourselves. Her writing style is just addicting. Throughout this first book she introduces the reader to a pair that you'll surely grow attached to: Arilyn Moonblade and Danilo Thann. Their mission to discover the mystery of the unaccountable deaths of various Harpers is really quite engaging. Then, when you meet such personalities as Kymil Nimesin and Elaith "The Serpent" Craulnober, it gets to the point where you're all of a sudden putting Ms. Cunningham in the same league as R.A. Salvatore and the DL duo Weis & Hickman. I can't spoil any of the intriguing plot developments but the story in Elfshadow is very complex and refreshing. I highly recommend this title by Elaine Cunningham, and I can guarantee that if you enjoy fantasy done right, you'll finish this book and immediately pick up the next book in the series Elfsong without a second thought.
Rating: Summary: Elaine Cunningham at her best Review: The first book that Elaine Cunningham wrote for the Forgotten Realms world, it is the most engaging of her works to date. Follow the earliest adventures of Arilyn and Danilo as they seek to solve the mystery of the Elfshadow. Their personalities are finely wrought and three-dimensional and may almost be called the Mulder and Scully of Faerun. The story will surprise and delight any fantasy novel fan.
Rating: Summary: Go, Arilyn, GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: The magic of "Elfshadow" is awesome. I started reading this book a days ago and finished the next evening. When you read this book you will be caught in a nonstop joy ride to God knows Where!!! After reading "Elfshadow" pick up the exciting sequel "Elfsong". Even though Arilyn is only in it once Danilo does a good job of being the main character. But before "Elfsong" check out "Realms of Valor". That book will tell you how Arilyn and Danilo got to Tethyr

Rating: Summary: Excellent! Bravo to Elaine! Review: This book was one of the best books I have ever read. Not only are the characters EXCELLENT, everything is described in perfect detail so that you know exactly what everything looks like around you. Arilyn Moonblade, Danilo Thann, and Elaith Craulnober are great examples of how she is great with charcters. Read the book and you'll finish it within 2 days. you'll just keep reading. a great Harpers novel and good for any Forgotten Realm reader or Fantasy fan.
Rating: Summary: great book Review: this is defently the greatest book i ever read!!! i recomend it!
Rating: Summary: Quite amusing reading. Review: This novel is sort of fantasy detective. If you don't love the detectives, you could read this book all the same, because there are many adventures and action in that novel and detective part, I'll hang over the main story. It's exalted book from exalted author, look for her other works - most of them much better (it doesn't mean this book is bad).
Rating: Summary: Perhaps THE greatest Realms novel ever! Review: This novel is the first Realms novel I have ever read and up to this day after countless others, it still remains my favourite. I have read this book so many times I can no longer count them. At a time when the Forgotten Realms and Harpers series were still in their beginnings, when many other FR books seemed to be no more than documented role playing campaigns, Elaine Cunnigham conjured forth a novel which will keep you up all night! I love so much about this book. The intriguing plot that will stupify you again and again, characters of great depth that you just gotta love [Arylin, Danilo, Khelben, and even Elaith (or perhaps especially Elaith!)], a great setting and action sequences which are neither too short nor too elaborate. When you finally do close this book, you a) Feel realy good about finally having money well spent. b) Feel really hungry as you realize that you have not eaten for the past 22 hours. c) Feel that you will read it again soon. For FR veterans and people who have never touched a fantasy book alike: This is how a book should be written! Get it while it's still there! Andreas "They don't get any better than this" Meyer
Rating: Summary: A good book, although slow sometimes Review: This was my second book of the Harpers Series. A story about a half-elf involved with some assasinations. The main argument is good, the characters are well defined (in fact Danilo character has very good definition) but some of the pieces of the adventure don't fit. For example the battle in the marsh of Chelimber is out of the main adventure, it looks as if the author should have to fill some pages without a clear idea. Fortunately battles are scarce to find (another good point for the novel) and the main adventure has enough consistence for passing some good hours of reading.
