Rating: Summary: Salvatore's Four Great Books Rolled Into One Review: For 27.95 I think it is worth reading about Drizzt's further adventures into the dangerous Underdark. From defending Mithral Hall to actually ending the conflict between himself and his fellow dark elfs Salavtore never fails in discrbing one of the best parts of the Forgotten Realms World.
Rating: Summary: A wonderful collection of a great series Review: From reading the prologue in this book, I could already tell that Salvatore had written yet another masterpiece. I ended up finishing the entire four-book collection in 3 days. All five of his classic characters (Drizzt, Regis, Bruneor, Catti-brie, and Wulfgar <Guenhwyvar>) star in these wonderful books. The characters are built strongly in this book. Aside from the amazing characters, the plot is unbelievable. Twists and turns keep you reading this great book as the friends work together... This is one of Salvatore's best collections I have ever seen, deffinately consider buying it. I would reccomend this book any fantasy reader; or anyone who enjoys a great book!
Rating: Summary: Legacy of The Weak Drow!!! Review: I am a fan of Salvatore, but Legacy of the Drow Collector's edition is not all that good to me. I was disappointed in how week he made the Drow in books one and two, so I decided not to read the next two. How in the nine hell's was Cattie able to survive in Menzobarranazan, she's good, but she is no Drow. The Drow are described as the fiercest and most evil creatures known in the Realms, but were defeated by Drizzt, Entrerie, and Cattie. Salvatore focuses too much on Drizzt and his accomplishments which begins to get boring after so long. If the Drow are as tough as Salvatore say's that they are, why do they always lose, and lose they always do.
Rating: Summary: R.A.Salvatore is a Great Storyteller Review: If you've read any of the previous Drizzt tales, this is a must. I found it more entertaining than the Icewind Dale Trilogy, but my personal preferences run to seeing as much as possible of the evil drow.At any rate, it's a great story, and a perfect way to bring a ton of closure to all the previous Drizzt stories, and not just for Drizzt himself but everyone in the books. If you enjoy fantasy at all, R. A. Salvatore is a good read, and if you're fairly new to fantasy as a genre, he's probably one of the easiest to start off with in order to break into the genre.
Rating: Summary: Drizzt rules the Realms! Review: If you haven't read these books, or haven't read anything about the Heroes of Mythril Hall and you love fantasy or D&D it is imperative that you pick these up. These books pick up after the Icewind Dale trilogy, continuing the adventures of Cattie Bre, Bruenor Battlehammer, Drizzt Do'Urden, Wulfgar and, of course, the mischeivious halfling Regis. As they transverse the realms, enduring harsh peril and great tradegy to come out on top. Salvatore, the author, is a master of Fantasy literature, especially excellent in detailing fighting scenes (an essential part of fanasy writing). If you are a Forgotten Realms fan or a Fantasy fan these need to be in your collection.
Rating: Summary: Edge of your seat reading Review: I felt as if I were right there going through the adventures with Drizzt and his friends. I would recommends this book to anyone who loves to read. It keeps you on the edge of your seat its so exciting. I love the reading the collector's addition because if I finsh one book I can go on to the next without having to wait.
Rating: Summary: Don't let the beginning turn you off. Review: When I started this book, everybody seemed to be against each other. This made me very angry because one of the most important aspects of the previous books was the progression of friendship between Drizzt and company. It seemed a cheap attempt at instilling conflict into the central plot. However, after about 100 pages or so the reasons behind this anger and confusion became apparent, and I realized the brilliance behind this tactic. Salvatore weaved one of his, thought lost, more interesting characters into the story with a fresh flair that was much appreciated. From this point on, the books began exhibiting the compelling aspects of their predecessors, eclipsing their seeming insurmountable set levels at points. I became, again, intimately involved with these unforgettable characters and realized coercion only after I had finished the whole collection in a mere week or two. This story is incredibly well-written and serves as a perfect example of truly unique world-creating fantasy. If you crave beautiful character development, intense moral codes (Drizzt sticks to his like a bee to a flower), or a clean and exciting fantasy adventure, this book, its predecessors included, is a very good choice.
Rating: Summary: One of the greatest adventures of a lifetime Review: I have been reading these books since Crystal Shard was released, and I have never read anything that engrosses me into the characters and settings as much as these books, along with the Icewind Dale and Dark Elf Trilogy collection. If you have never dived into the world of Drizzt Do' Urden and his friends, start with the Dark Elf Trilogy and work your way into Legacy of the Drow. Not many fantasy novels can stimulate the imagination and take you away into another world in the way that these books can. You find yourself missing the characters between releases, sharing their griefs and cheering their victories. And above all else, the words that the famous Drizzt writes in his logs are very inspirational, and allow for self-reflection. Legacy of the Drow contains wars that are described in only ways that Salvatore can do it. Don't forget to breath between chapters.
Rating: Summary: Not his best, but still some of thebest Review: I will have to say that I am a huge fan of R.A. Salvatores work. I still try to read other authors books, but can't get into them as easily as Salvatores. This is another wonderfully written book by Salvatore. I will have to say that it doesn't quite hold a candle to the previous two trilogy books, but I will have to say that overall it is still in the top 5 of my all time favorite books. His work is outstanding. I'll be reading the next set as soon as Amazon gets em to me.
Rating: Summary: Have to agree with the other reviewer Review: This book is not that great, but it will hold your attention. Pretty much the same stuff these characters have been doing the whole time, without much growth in their personality. Extreme predictability, including the obvious ending, really hurt the book as well. Time to retire the series.
