Rating: Summary: This was fantastic Review: This book was great. It explained everything in alot of detail. Even if you dont play the MTG cardgame you would still like it if you like fantasy. The story line was great. When Ipicked it up Ididn't want to put it down.
Rating: Summary: The Best Magic Book EVER! Review: THis is a great book to read if you are a biggner or a long time fan of Magic. This book will get you started on the story line. It is an exciting book of "intruig and betrayl" said the New York Times. I would highly recomend this book to anyone.
Rating: Summary: Long Live Urza! Review: This put simply put rocks. Whether you are a Magic: The Gatherin card player or not you will be totally fascinated by this story. It is kind of cool though if you do play when you're reading along and see some of the cards you have (like clockwork avians). Anyways an A++ book for anyone who likes the Fantasy setting.
Rating: Summary: Bravado Review: This book started it all. This allowed the modern foray into the Magic: The Gathering storyline that has continued to this day. All I have in this review is the idea that someone who has never played the game will be immersed in the tragic tale as two brothers and their pasion unwind the world with the tyranny of the machines they play out. A four front war and delving into the later storylines, and good story to boot. If interested, it is worth it.
Rating: Summary: Brother's War ~ Jeff Grubb Review: Well, the storyline was interesting and well put together, but it concentrated too much on description and not enough on feeling. Not to mention the horrible typo's and grammatical errors... I personally think it is just shy of being four-star.
Rating: Summary: Overall it was a good book Review: Overall the book was good. But there were a few mistakes. Like how did the first dragon engine get tho that campsite and was it made by the thran or the Phyrexian's. Or when did they do what they did to Mishra. Do to those I'd give it a 4 star instead of five.
Rating: Summary: Clearly the best of the series. Review: This is the first of the four books of the Artifacts Cycle (theothers, in order: Planeswalker, Time Streams, Bloodlines). It's alsoeasily the best; unlike the sequels (especially Planeswalker), it doesn't dilute character development with a storyline that wanders over decades or centuries because the protagonist is nearly immortal. In The Brothers War, instead, we can identify with the growing rivalry between Urza and Mishra, and smell the sorrow as their hatred nearly destroys the world.Fortunately, the storyline is fairly self-contained, so readers can pick up this novel and decide for themselves whether to risk the other three.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down! Review: This book was one of the best page-turners I've read in a long time - constantly trying to find time for "just one more chapter!" I HIGHLY recommend it. Also, I HIGHLY recommend that the publisher hire a PROOFREADER! There are TONS of typos in this book!
Rating: Summary: The Brothers War Review: this book was fantastic. 5 stars. so i got the next book, which is Planeswalker. that book was 4 stars. not as good as the first but i had to know what happened. next i got the third book in the artifacts cycle, Time Streams. that book was like 10 stars. then i got the fourth book, Bloodlines. 3 stars. not because i don't like cliff hangers but there aren't any more books in the artifacts cycle! do i go to another cycle? after Bloodlines what do i read to continue the story? all i'm trying to do is read it all in order... little help please anyone...
Rating: Summary: The Brothers War Review: The book The brothers War is a great story. It tells of the long awaited Antiquities Story line. I loved the book because it fits right in with the card game that I have loved for so many years. The sequels Planeswalker, Time Streams, and Bloodlines are also fantastic telling the story of the Urza's Block Expansion.
