Summary: Really good but where is Jarlaxle?
Review: I've read all the drizzt-stories but I foud out that my favorite character really is Jarlaxle. His plotting and annoying Artemis was the coolest part I've ever read. Menzoberranzan is an endless playground for him and I would be really happy if he came back in the story. It doesn't neccesary be in the Drizzt cylclus for me.

Summary: Drizzt is cool, but book was a letdown!
Review: I loved all the books in the series, but this one didn't seem to be as good as a book as the others. for one why on earth would you bring Wolfgar back? His death was good, but his resurection destroyed how special and sacrificial his death was. Also now Drizzt and Cattie-Brie wont have any kind of relationship cuz the big dumb barbarian is back. why couldnt Drizzt and Cattie just shagged and got it over with? it would be about time, Drizzt needs a woman! If the series continues hopefully Wolfgar and Cattie will go away and Drizzt can start anew, we need some new characters dangit! I would really like to see Drizzt befriend another DarkElf.

Summary: Salvatore can do better
Review: I've read every single book on Drizzt and even the creation of Guenwyhvar in Realms of Magic but this book is ridiculous.All the pre-empted stuff are in there as if it is another low-key movie sequel(no offense),still it is a book on Drizzt. Mr. Salvatore I think you should write about the 6 years in between and please introduce something fresh and new and can't Drizzt even get hurt a little anymore?

Review: I have read all of R.A. Salvatore's Drizzt novels and I have noticed that in every book....The hero's become more and more invincable....I mean, When was the last time Drizzt got hurt? In the Halflings Gem. Bringing back Bruenor was one thing..

Summary: An Interesting Turn of Events
Review: This Book had an interesting turn of events such as the newly blossoming relationship between Drizzt and cattie-brie and the unexpected meeting between two great characters (CADDERLY of the CLERIC QUINTET and DRIZZT). Sadly, Salvatore, My most cherished author, was put on a time limit for this novel and so had not the oppotunity to fully express himself. That, in turn, made the novel what everyone else calls "PREDICTABLE," (what a horrible word!) I feel that Salvatore worked to the best of his ability within the given amount of time and, ironically, I am hearing rumors about another salvatore novel to be released (THE SILENT BLADE) which has no time limit. If before, you felt that Passage to Dawn was not as exciting as his preceeding books, I'm more than absolutely positive that this story, without a time limit, will be salvatore best work ever. I believe that salvatore is going to blow us all away because he also understands his readers argument. Salvatore has to publish two more books that are of poor quality (which will never happen) to ever make me question his authority on the underdark and the drow. Being a young writer, Salvatore has also inspired me.TO SALVATORE: The story was, as expected, wonderfully written. Thank you for another novel and hope to read THE SILENT BLADE soon!!! I also understand that a time limit was imposed in the creation of this story...bleh! "Company Imposed fantasy" (as Passage to dawn semi-was) and your name should never be put into the same sentence!

Summary: Wulfgar resurrection ruins series
Review: I loved the previous books, although the later ones were stretching the story on a bit much... but as soon as I read Passage to Dawn, I was quite disgusted. Way to ruin a good series... guess the money per book thing is clouding his vision.

Summary: Worth reading, but it was a little short.
Review: I agree that the ending of this series was very disappointing. what happens to drizzt and catti-brie??? The first two series the "Dark Elf Trilogy" and the "Icewind Dale Trilogy" were excellent! I've read them so often the covers are falling off! but as for the hardcover series... they just seem to get slimmer and less exciting with every passing book... I have a feeling Mr. Salvatore left his "last" book of the Heroes of Icewind Dale open so if he decides to continue, the ending of his last book is open-ended enough to create a whole new series. On the whole, I just wish he would have given a little more information.

Summary: 6 years lost?
Review: Overall I enjoyed the book but bringing Wulfgar back was a bit much. I mean Salvatore already did that in Halfling's Gem with Bruneor. Also, the 5-6 years that Drizzt and Cattie-bree were on the Seasprite is because Salvatore wanted to get the timeline right for Drizzt to meet a mature and experienced Cadderly! Remember that both Canticle (Book 1 of the Cleric Quintet) and Siege of Darkness happened during the Time of Madness when the gods walked the material plane; thus, Salvatore needed time for 5 books of the Cleric Quintet to happen and for Cadderly to finish the cathedral, Spirits Soaring. All in all, it was an enjoyable book. However, I know that Drizzt and Cattie-bree are far more seasoned adventurers than they were in Crystal Shard, but they did seem quite invulnerable.

Summary: Great Book
Review: I liked the book.I have read every book concerning Drizzt and I thought they were all great. The first books I received were The Dark Elf Trilogy. I have to admit I wasn't big on books then and i put the book down numerous times on the first 50 pages. I just didn't find it interesting. Then I picked up the book again and I got really into it. The last book I read was Passage to Dawn, and I am patiently searching for the next book. I read Passage to Dawn the first time in under 24 hours I just couldn't put the book down.

Summary: It may not be great literature, but it is a fun read.
Review: Salvatore does it again. Not neccessarily his best effort, but it is still a page turning fun book. Some readers have accused Mr. Salvatore of resurrecting a character best left dead; however, he certainly left enough forshadowing in previous novels for a careful reader to forsee Lothe's gift to Errtu.
