Summary: Zak's dead, melted in acid.
Review: Alright hosers, first of all, Zak could never be brought back, at least not in his body, it was melted to poop. Secondly, you can see how Wulfgar could be brought back due to the fact that the spider queen's hand maiden had killed him and this allowed the queen to have his spirit. You should all know that.

Summary: Could be better...!
Review: I have to be one of Drizzt's largest fans, and therefore R.A. Salvatore's, but this book still somehow falls short of potential. I did not care for the further pirate-thwarting adventures of Drizzt and his companions on board the Sea Sprite, though I was delighted with the return of Harkle, the bumbling mage. The book did not really begin to move me until late when Drizzt and Catti-brie return to Icewind Dale and face off against Errtu. Bringing Wulfgar back was a strange choice that steals some realism from the series, and you almost wish it had been Zaknafien, Drizzt's father, who was returned from beyond the grave. The bottom line is no fan of Drizzt should pass by it, but it could have been much better.

Summary: just like the halfling's gem
Review: passage to dwan was a good adventure on the sword coast just like the halfling's gem, without too much emphasis on the characters, and had it not been so predictable i would've liked it as much as THG, the best Drizzt book ever by far. Who gives a crap about Errtu? Who, in fact, gives a crap about any of drizzt's enemies when we all know drizzt always wins? Salvatore needs to do a better job of keeping us in suspense about HOW he wins, and not make it obvious that he will until the very end. Also he hasn't written a non-rushed ending since THG.

Summary: Can we say Hammer Man?
Review: Sure we all saw that it was Wulfgar coming back, but I don't get the people out there who didn't want him back? Come on! For one thing he gives you an awesome conflict as an author (Catti-brie's choice). For the reader though, it has to be the Hammer. Aegis-Fang kicks some serious butt and in the hands of a man like Wulfgar, one can see some serious critter stomping. Sure Zak would have been cool, but who's to say he won't be back later? The main thing with Zak though is that he has been granted a peaceful rest. Drizzt has put him behind. The situation with Wulfgar and Catti-brie will make life so much more interesting. Where is the conflict if it is Zak? Then you just have two supreme drow warriors tearing it up on the surface. Where's the fun in that?

Summary: Salvatore, you've outdone yourself again.
Review: This was another great Drizzt book for all of the true Drizzt fans out there. You cannot help but get emotionally wound up with the characters in these books. You actually feel their pain and fears and their joys. I loved this book and will read any other masterpeices that Salvatore decides to write.

Summary: This was signature Drizzt.
Review: This was a bit a new take on Drizzt's quest for answers, but a welcome one. My personal favorite scene was the wizard "battle" one the shores of the witch's island. One wonders what a Harpell under the spell of a potion of heroism would do. :P The fight with Errtu was cool too, especially since it allowed Wulfgar to rejoin his friends. One doesnt recover from that sort of experience easily, so his future bears watching. All in all, a wonderful book.

Summary: The weakest of the lot.
Review: Ok, Drizzt's getting a bit tedious now. when's he gonna shut up and stop whining? heh. Anyway, I love the whole series, mostly. There are one or two things I dont like, most of them in this book. Why does anyone want Wulfgar back? He's the weakest of the characters. I think most people would have preferred it was Zaknafien. I knew, deep down inside that it was Wulfgar, but I never stopped hoping that it was good ol Zak instead. Ah well, cant win em all. Other than that, where's the plot?? The only thing I trully liked about this book was the fact that Cadderly was in it and I got to find out what happened to him after the Cleric Quintet. If your a die hard Drizzt fan, read it. If your not, and if your getting a little tired of the whole Drizzt thing, dont bother, it's not worth the disapointment.

Summary: Zak, Zak wherefor art thou...
Review: Dang it, I knew it was the boring barbarian slab 'o meat Salvatore was bring back, but still I hoped we'd see more of Drizzt's daddy. I know Zak is dead, twice dead to be exact, but still he was at least interesting. And after 6 years don't ya think Cattie and Drizzt would have ummm....you know...by now? This tortured lovey dovey stuff is getting old. Still I liked this book.
