Summary: Great yet Dissapointing
Review: This book was anticipated for a long time from us Drizzt fans. The previous books had been extroadinary and have been undoubtedly one of the best series of books that I have ever read yet out all of the books I would rate this one the worst. Though it was undoubtedly very funny and whimsical it lacked the sense of character that the other books had. You were able to get deep enough into the mind of Drizzt. This book has done little to wet my thirst and I look on eagrely for hopefully another novel from Salvatore that can create the same type of excitement as the first

Summary: A book for us Drizzt addicts.
Review: I am a huge fan of Salvatore and his previous books about the dark elf hero Drizzt Do'Urden, and therefore must admit that I was rather disappointed by this supposedly last book in his dark elf series. The reason for my saying this is that this book seems to rely more heavily on events than character. I personally think that the shift of focus from the underdark and to the planes is to blame here. Salvatore is practically the inventor of the drow and their society and he doesn't seem completely at home in this extraplanar stuff. And as for the surprise reunion, it seems to me that anyone who has finished the first few chapters of the book can figure that one out, it's about as subtle as a kick in the groin. Salvatore has simply has had enough and wants to move on to new challenges, being the terrific author that he is, but just didn't want to leave any loose ends, so he wraps it all up neatly, but maybe just in a little to much hurry. For the uninitiated read the dark elf trilogy, it's an undeniable masterpiece.

Summary: Lots of action and adventure...and a surprise reunion!
Review: Bob Salvatore allows us to share yet another adventure with Cattie-Brie, Bruenor, Regis and the incredible Drizzt Do'Urden and his feline sidekick, Guenhwyvar. Salvatore's blow-by-blow descriptions of the heroes' battles practically left me panting in exhaustion. The characters were so well written and developed that I felt as if I knew (and loved) each of them personally and I really enjoyed rekindling my relationship with them through this book. However, I rated this book a "9" instead of a "1

Summary: One of The Three Best Dark Elf Novels!
Review: R.A. Salvatore has hit his peak once again with his characterization of the rogue drow elf, Drizzt Do'Urden. It seem ironic that what may be his last dark elf book is one of the best, along with Homeland and Siege of Darkness. Many questions left from as far back as The Legacy are answered, especially the identity and fate of the being left to the demon Errtu by the drow goddess Lloth. Also addressed is the fate of Drizzt's other friends, Cattie- Brie (the human raised by a dwarven king), Bruenor (Drizzt's best friend and adopted father of Cattie Brie, and Regis, the halfling and now advisor to Bruenor. The story begins as Drizt and Cattie-Brie, 6 years after the end of Siege of Darkness, have joined an old friend in his mission of Pirate hunting in the great city of Waterdeep. An odd event leads to a great quest which reunites Drizzt and Cattie-Brie with their old companions. Any fan of the Dark Elf Series would be a fool not to add this book to their collection, immediately.

Summary: realize
Review: people need to realize something. the return of wulfgar was forced on salavatore by wizards of the coast. he was told either he brings back wulfgar, or they will get another author to do so. becuase salvatore writes in someone elses universe, he does not have complete control over where his stories lead. get this through your thick skulls.

the relationship between harkle and robillard was worth the whole book. especially the lil part against the zombies

Summary: A thrilling Finale to a thrilling series
Review: This may be the last book in the series "The Legacy of the Drow", but only a turning point in Drizzts life. [...] In this book we follow Drizzt and his friends to confront the fiend and to retreive this "valuable" prize. But there is much more in store for Drizzt then he knows. The person held in the Abyss may or may not be who he thinks it is. This is a book that will change Drizzt all Drizzt novels to come.
R.A. Salvatore is very easily one of the best fantasy novelists ever to live. Drizzt is a character that we have all grown to love and with every new novel he stars in, we learn more about him and watch him change. This book is a major turning point in all the Drizzt novels, making us crave for more and to find out how things will soon turn out. Drizzt changes so much in this book, realizing what he wants and who he is. This is a thrilling finale to a thrilling series. A must read.
