Summary: Raistlin, the man.
Review: This book is a great addition to the Dragonlance series. Especially when magic is currently lacking in the world of Krynn. The book provides an amazing and interesting glimpse into the youth and development of Raistlin Majere, the mage so powerful he could defeat the gods. I thouroughly enjoyed this book as I am sure most seasoned travelers of Krynn would.

Summary: Couldn't put it down!
Review: In every person there is a hint of darkness in their soul...

Born a twin, Raistlin is cast into the shadow of his brother Caramon from birth. Caramon was born a strong, healthy, and handsome man, while his brother Raistlin is born a weak, sickly child. It shows the progression of a strong love/hate inner turmoil that plagues Raistlin for his brother.

It brings to light all of the pain Raistlin goes through as a child growing up in a world he feels hates him. Taunted by his brother's friends and ridiculed by his town Raistlin strives to find his niche in a farming community. He finds it in magic.

"I magus" is what you will be chanting after reading this book.

And so the story begins...

Summary: The Truth of Raistlin Majere
Review: This is truly the best DragonLance book (next to Legends Trilogy) for all die-hard Raistlin fans. This book answeres a majority of questions dealing with Raistlin's past that many of us (especially me) have been dying to know.
I'd recommend this book for newbies and hard-core DragonLance fans.
The Soulforge is definitly my #1 favorite DragonLance novel and I think you'd agree with me as well.

Review: This books proves the woman is the brains behind the operation - sorry Tracy.
I always enjoy reading about Raistlin & this is the best yet. I hope there's another book - please let there be 3 or 4 more - books in this series.
The Test chapters were what I wanted to read the most. I always thought he had gone a little different.

Summary: Speechless
Review: Words cannot describe how well written this book is. It delves into the past of all of our favorite heros. Mainly Raistlin, of course the book is based around him. Whether you love him or hate him, you will love this book. The follow up (Brothers in Arms) is just as great. I can only wish there will be a third.

Summary: Perfect, the Master deserved this
Review: I've been in love with Raistlin ever since I read page 24 of Dragons of Autumn Twilight. I think a lot of us Dragonlance fans love the mysterious dark-souled man that Weis and Hickman created. It is in this book so many questions are aswered. This is the story about Raistlin's childhood, and the full version of his Test. This is probably one of the best Dragonlance books that has/will be written. The Soulforge brings light to the shadow that was cast over Raistlin's life. All devouted Raistlin fans MUST read this book, preferably several times. By far, this is Dragonlance at it's best.

Summary: Creepy and Cool
Review: This book is amazing! This is my favorite book of time because Raistlin is a character you can relate to, and Weis devolops him beautifuly. "Soulforge" follows his early years from age 6, and his beginings in magic, to his test in the tower. If you've ever wanted to know what goes on in Raistlin's mind, I reccomend you read this book.

Summary: One of the best novels in the series!
Review: The Dragonlance series continues to be one of the longest running fantasies, and although the line has had some truly great novels, most have been blatant money-grabs and amateurish attempts at writing within the framework. Thankfully the series regularly comes home to its rightful owners - Margret Weis and Tracy Hickman. 'Soulforge' is one of the better novels in the series. Written by Weis, it tells the tale of Raistlin Majere, arguably one of the most popular characters in the series, and his origins. We are given a big chunk of his life, from when he was just a child to the fateful Test in the Tower of High Sorcery. For the DL completist, the book fills in many holes in the lives of the original characters. For newbies, this is the perfect book for being introduced to the Dragonlance line of books. Well written, it's a great book for fantasy fans.
