Rating: Summary: the greatest DL ever Review: This book is without a doubt the best Dragonlance book ever written.I have read this book at least a dozen times. It is the best. And at last the story of Raistlin's Test is told. I am glad Margaret chose to write this, no one can write them like she can.
Rating: Summary: Incredible! Incredible! Review: Raistilin Majere is my favourite DragonLance characters, and this book just shows how great he really is. If you are a true DragonLance fan and was wondering HOW and WHY Raistlin is the way he is, YOU CAN'T GO WRONG: Get this book. From the moment I started to read, I knew there was no turning back; this book has it all. After you read this book, the whole Majere family story will seem a lot more clear. So here is your desicion: Either spend $7 on this book, and have the best time of your life, or spend $7 on Chav Kalash, and have a stomach ache for the rest of the day. I know which one I would choose.
Rating: Summary: Great book with some weeck points. Review: I loved this book, it inlightend a few eshus that I did not understand in the "DragonLance Chronicles", some of the eshus where about Raistleen, and some of them where more general.About the test Raistleen pest. It wasn't so spaicel. The writers wrote about it very breifly. In the begin, I was very cyrius about this spaciel test but, I was a little disappointed. I was hoping for something more exaiting. Ther wasn't enothg fighting. I did not like some parts that speak about nothing, it was fairly boring. But I was very gled that the writers show over parts of Raistleen - the good ones.
Rating: Summary: Brilliant about readers favorite character Review: Recent books by Weis and Hickman have been quite disappointing (Starshield + latest Darksword), so was this new Raistlin chronicle going to be included in this catagory? Definitely not!!! This is good historical background knowledge for understanding the dark choices Raistlin undertakes later in his life. The sequel "Brothers in arms" will be out in Aug. 1999. I can hardly wait.
Rating: Summary: Awe-inspiring. Review: This book is the single greatest book in the Dragonlance series. It tells the ory of Raistlin's life in great detail, and answered most questions I had about the twisted mage. Don't pass this one up, cause if you do you have to die.
Rating: Summary: One of the best Review: This book, in my opinion, is one of the best Dragonlance books ever written. it finally tells about one of Krynn's most mysterious and powerful residents - the story of Raistlin Majere.
Rating: Summary: Amazing Review: Raistlin is my favorite character in the Dragonlance Saga. How does Margaret Weis manage again and again to write characters that touch the very base of my soul?
Rating: Summary: Marvelously well-done Review: Unlike the cesspool of nonsense that Jean Rabe has brought us with her pathetic attempts at the Fifth Age Trilogy and her follow-ups on them, Margaret Weis has brought a stunning, in-depth look at young Raistlin Majere's life, detailing his schooling with the inept Master Theobald, his first love, the meeting of the companions, his parents, and the Seeker Gods. I found this to be an incredibly addictive story, and it even included a foreward by Tracy Hickman. The Dragonlance Team has done a superb job bringing up the heroes, and Weis has done a magnificient job in furthering it in "The Soulforge".
Rating: Summary: A must read for Dragonlance fans Review: This book is a must read for anyone who has read the legends triology. I read those years ago, and since have been searching for any Dragonlance book that depicts Raistlin. I found that Soulforge adds more depth to his character, and gives the reader greater insight into Raistlin's motivation during the Legends triology. I couldn't put the book down, and read it in two days.
Rating: Summary: Sometimes you truly can go home... Review: The Chronicles are the first fantasy series I ever read, and as a result, they hold a special place within the casement of memory. Sometimes I recall the events that took place in those novels - as well as the Legends - so clearly, that I feel like it truly happened, and I was there. When I happened "The Soulforge" in the bookstore, I was filled with both delight, and dread. The former emotion was evoked by a sudden yearning to return to those characters I grew up with, to visit them one more time. The latter surfaced with the fear that I could never go back, that all had come to pass, and would remain only that, a memory. Today, I gripped this novel and adventured through nearly all of it in one sitting. I laughed aloud many times, grinning at the antics of Tasslehoff, the exchanges between Flint and Caramon. I grew solemn, sad, as the history of the Majere family was painted by Weis's master hand. In the end, I sighed, knowing full well where Raistlin would end up, but understanding, for the first time, why he'd ended up there. I bow to Margaret Weis's voice in this novel. It is a great accomplishment, and an honor to the characters she and Tracy Hickman raised many years ago. I offer my deepest of thanks; thank you for the adventures, thank you for the memories, thank you for sharing your creations, who have become very dear to me.
