Summary: A very good book. Now where's the next RaistChron book.
Review: The Brothers in Arms was definately better than the Soulforge. I don't know how someone came up with unneccessary because Krynn isn't neccessary. But it was a book to read and not something "neccessary". There was the fact that Raistlin fought a large and powerful dragon without knowing it and he still won (a little far fetched. I'd personnally like to think the first dragon Raistlin fought was Onyx). Even though it wasn't direct this book created an interesting picture of Ariakas. It seems to portray that he doesn't care for magic and that he is an Archmagus because of natural ability using magic because he can. We know a different Ariakas from the Chronicles. He is a powerful mage who mixes it with intelligence and physical force (seeming to be unstoppable except that his overconfidence put him at the sword thrust when he faced Tanis & Raist). He obviously did pay attention to magic when he made the flying citadel. So, it appears your favorite characters were not the only ones who grew in this book.

Summary: A great read
Review: I liked being able to see how the twins got their first battle experience and to see them not as the heros or villians we have known them as.

Summary: A great Prolouge for the orignal chronicles!
Review: If you don't like this book you cannot call yourself a true Dragonlance fan. I've tried reading dragonlance books not penned by weis and/or Hickman, but they never felt right, something was always missing from the characters. Brothers in arms however really gives you a feel for Raistlin, Caramon and Kitiara. I really enjoyed reading this book and was pleasantly surprised at some of the other characters in this story. For example Scrounger, at first I thought he was gonna be a Tas clone, but he was really unique and likeable. To sum it up this is simply a great Dragonlance book buy it if already read Soulforge.

Summary: Great reading
Review: This book was very interesting and attention holding, as most Dragonlance books tend to be. If Dragonlance is your thing, this is a must have. Even if you just have the smallest liking for science fiction, this is a well written book that will leave you wanting more.

Summary: Brothers in Arms
Review: I enjoyed this book, but there is absolutely no reason to have Caramon resemble Gomer Pyle when training as a mercenary. He may be naive to the world at this point in his life, but he is not a fool either. It sometimes seemed as if Seargent Carter and Gomer had enlisted in the Mad Baron's army.

Summary: Great Book!
Review: I had been frothing at the mouth (well, almost) waiting for this book to come out. Boy, was I not dissapointed by this one! I won't tell you much about the book other than it is just as good as the first 3 books Margret Weis wrote with Tracy Hickman. The details are just as stunning and the end leaves you wanting the next book out the next day. I will most definently be waiting for the next one to come out so I can pounce on that one too! It is reccomended that you either read the Soulforge, the first book of the Rastlin Chronicles, or also read the Trilogy that started the Dragonlance craze, The Dragons of Autumn Twilight, Dragons of Winter Night, and Dragons of Spring Dawning as they are all importants parts of the story that will help you understand. I give this book 5 stars!

Summary: Brothers In Arms
Review: This was the second book of the Raistlin chronicles. It was interestiong to find out about the twins' adventure being soldiers. It was an excellent book but sometimes I ached (literally) to find out what happened to one person but it would go to another persons view in a totally different place! I recommend this book because it's fun to read. It reveals some facts that aren't revealed in the other books. (If you read any at all) Margaret Weis is a wonderful author. If you like mages and dragons and elves this is the book for you!

Summary: Thrilling, as it always is reading about the Majere twins.
Review: It was a great book. Reading about Caramon and his twin Raistlin is always good reading. It is thrilling and it keeps you reading.

Summary: The Continuing adventures of Raist
Review: This book continues the pre-dragonlance lives of the twins Raist and Caramon. Long time fans of Dragonlance will find this a must read. The dark mage has always been a good topic. This book (like Soulforge) however, lacks certain elements that the origanl Dragonlance trilogy had much less the 2nd trilogy and "Summer Flame". If you are a long time fan of Weis (and Hickman) this book is worth the read. If you are just beginning to find the Dragonlance worlds, I strongly suggest reading the earlier books ... or would that be the later books?

Summary: Best "Dragonlance" Novel. Period.
Review: I haven't read anything related to "Dragonlance" since high school. That was over 12 years ago. Back then, Raistlin was easily my favorite character but soon found myself drifting away from such fantasy characters.

This summer, I picked up "Brothers In Arms" on a whim and was shocked at how good it read. Slipping back into the lives of the twins felt as comfortable as an old glove. The novel also read far better than the dissapointing "Soulforge."

The prose was also rich and thankfully more mature than any previous Krynn storyline. However, the characterization between the twins did get a little old at times: Raistling and his terminal crankiness vs. Caramon doing his best Homer Simpson impression.

Hopefully, the next novel will ease off here, but I look forward to it.
