Rating: Summary: This book is so Essential Review: If you play AD&D you need the Players Handook wether you just play occansonaly or play every day after school or work.
Rating: Summary: this book is great Review: this book is a must have for any AD&D player out there. it gives info about classes, races, magics, and other essicental stuff. if you dont have this book you'll probably be lost
Rating: Summary: Indispensable, yes, but no work of art. Review: I remember the old 1st edition Player's Handbook, and while it paled in comparison to the 1st edition DM Guide, it is still vastly more enjoyable to read than its 2nd edition incarnation. The color illustrations suck, every one of them. The book is written in a lifeless, dreary, almost technical writing style. This is a fantasy game, for cryin' out loud! There should be a sense of wonder about all this! For a rule book you've gotta have, TSR should have made this much more interesting. The AD&D game itself rates 5 stars.
Rating: Summary: I love AD&D Review: If you play AD&D you need this book!
Rating: Summary: This book is essential to anyone who wishes to be a DM Review: Though you can play threw use of just the PHB the DMG realy is essential. Not only dose it renforce what the PBH tells you but it also has rules and systems for what goes on behind the scenes. With the info in this book any DM can create wonderful new worlds and campaighns. It is a must.
Rating: Summary: A must have for any dungeon master! Review: This book contains everything you need to be a dungeon master
Rating: Summary: If you DM you need this book! Review: I just began DMing my own AD&D game and without this book I would be lost. This book has everything that a DM needs to know such as treasure, a nice list of some magical itmes, and other things. Another reviewer of this book said that the psionics should be in here. I don't agree because this has all the basic things needed psionics is only used by advanced DMs and if they want to use it they should refer to the Complete of Guide of Psionics.
Rating: Summary: Almost a Five Review: Not that this book isn't an awesome font for knowledge, but for adventurers, I rate this book second in importance only to the Players Options: Skills and Powers book.
Rating: Summary: Essential reading Review: You can't play AD&D without this book, simple as that. Other than that its a great book, with everything your player will need to begin adventuring in the wonderful world of Dungeons and Dragons.
Rating: Summary: This book is a need for AD&D if you dont have the origional. Review: I have to say that this is a must have to the unfortunate few of us that don't have the origional. Ignore those bad reviews from eerk and especialy casperrenes becouse they have no idea what they are talking about and rogues can wear any type of armor they want to they just suffer penalties to their theiving abilities and wizards don't get 1 hit point. It is a good book for new players to read, it gives rules and the essentials.
