Summary: Any Serious ADnDer Has To Have This ( unless you have the CD
Review: Well I doubt that me or my friends would have gotten very far into the finer aspects of adventuring wihout this book. Yes, some of the manual isn't very useful, but it depends on what kind of campaign you want to run. There will just be many situations that this book will become handy when you and your people have a question about how to do something or need extra explanation instead of guessing. Isn't that what a reference manual is supposed to do ?

Summary: perfect
Review: i really like this book it gav me most of the stuff i needed to fill in those shady dungeon stocking areas. i think that this book is a must although i reccomend playing the game a couple of times to make sure that you know what you are getting into. DMing is hard but this book makes it a whole lot easier.

Summary: This book....So So.
Review: I've been playing D+D for an incredibly long time. And I have to say, if you were a DM, this is NOT the best refrence available. IMO, The Player's Handbook is better,The DM's manual is just an overblown edition of that. D+D's a great game, but this isn't exactly a great refrence. RPGing forever, but this is a little exagerated. My rating, 3 stars.

Summary: Very good reading material
Review: You know what???? THIS BOOK IS AWESOME!!!!!!!! NEWBIES OUTTHERE, don't listen to anything these morons have to save about bad artwork: It's the RULEBOOK, you CANNOT live (or play) without it!!!!!!!!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Very good, but has a few errors.
Review: First off, it relys on the player's handbook a lot. Next, remember that there are a few errors(for example, putting arrows and other piercing weapons under the catagory slashing weapons). However, it is a good book for new DMs. I recomend this book to future DMs and only of you already have and read the Player's Handbook.

Summary: This, the Monsterous Manual, and the DMG are all you need!
Review: This is an exelent book, describing anything you need to know about all the character classes, Fighter, Paladin, Ranger, Mage, Illusionist, Cleric, Bard, Thief, Druid and more! It also tells you all the spells and everything else a player needs! If you buy this book, also get the Monsterous Manual, and the Dungeon Master's Guide, and you can learn anything you need to make a really fun mission. (Buy them in the order of Player's Handbook, Monsterous Manual, then Dungeon Master's guide. Becuase you cant play with out a character, then you need monsters to fight, and finaly, the final touches)

Summary: Absolutley Reqired
Review: If your going to play AD&D then you NEED this book! It is absolutley essential for beginning players. It is easy to understand, except for a few unclear parts.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: not worth $25
Review: If you've read the player's handbook, you don't need this book. it has terrible artwork, and the only use ful section is the magical items. if you can just barrow one from someone and read that section.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: its informative
Review: It was great, but the artwork kinda sucked. Anyway it really helped me.(when i was a beginning player).
