Review: Everything you need to learn the game. The PHB has detailed information about scores, races, classes, alignment, and proficientcies. It also has complete equipment lists and "rules" for play. If your interested in Fantasy Roleplay, this book will introduce you to the Cream of the Crop.

Summary: Core rules for the best RPG ever.
Review: This book is laid out well for beginners. Everything you need to create a character for AD&D is laid out in order through the first 6 chapters. The only problem that I have with it is that, as an experienced player, I would like to have all of the tables from this book in one place, instead of having to remember what page they are on.

Summary: Get the "Father" of RPG's!
Review: I have done thousands of RPG's and started out with "Dungeons and Dragons". This is a worthy successor to the old game. I particularly like the new optional rules that allow you to add more fine details to your characters. The new illustrations help add to the game, and the new layout is a real joy. Highly recommended.

Summary: I Liked the last one better
Review: Understand me right, there is nothing wrong with the Revised 2nd edition Players Handbook, its a good book, as good as the first 2nd edition. But I've experienced both books, and I better liked the first one, its typing is smaller and is much easier to view, and the new edition is without description on the top of the pages, so you got to know the book all the way through, if you want to get around. But anyway, its good for new players, the old ones should stay to the first edition, since they only will get confused by "upgrating".

Summary: Good but lacking some viltal info
Review: I was somewhat dissapointed to find out that the dmg did'nt have any info on running a borony like the phb said it would, it also didnt have anywhere near as much info as the old dmg. This one was mostly taken up by treasure tables and descriptions. so the bottom line is that if you are going to be a dm then you pretty much have to get it but otherwise don't even touch it.

Review: This was a good handbook. Although, if you are a starter ( like me) you should buy the Interduction To Advanced Dungeons & Dragons cd.

Review: The book is very well illustrated, and the larger type makes it slightly easier to read, but there is nothing new in here, so to speak. If you are just getting started on AD&D, then this is the resource you need. If you already have the 2nd Edition handbook, there is absolutely no reason to buy this book.
