Summary: a twist on the world of darkness
Review: Changlings deffinatly cant take the amount of physical damage (and shake it off)as a werewolf or vampire, so if you like the play the made-for-combat, beat stick characters, you might not find too much you like here, (except for maybe Trolls or Redcaps with some of the more dangerous cantrips) But if you really just love to roleplay, you will probably really enjoy this game. Almost anything is possible when the dreaming is envolved, so expect wild adventures. The cantrips your characters can learn can be both useful and/or amusing. The characters built in frailties take the roleplaying up another notch as well with frailties such as the Pooka race has to make a willpower role to tell the absolute truth or the slaugh that can not speak above a whisper. In short I highly recomend this set for any roleplayer.

Summary: The not-so-dark World of Darkness
Review: For all of those who are tired of the angst of Vampires, give Changeling a chance! Yes, they are "sad" creatures, forever forbidden from their home, doomed to dwell in a world that threatens to murder their souls on a daily basis, but at least they aren't completely immersed in their own misery! I've tried Vampire, read Mage, thumbed through Werewolf, and the only one that truly captivates me is Changeling. If you're looking for diverse characters, entertaining stories, and infinite possibilities, look no further than Changeling: The Dreaming.

Summary: Changeling has its' problems, but also its' strengths.
Review: For those who like Vampire's darkness or Werewolf's potential blood, Changeling is probably not the best game. However, if you're looking for something completely different from and possibly lighter than the other White Wolf games, this is it. Changeling, even more so than the other games, has no limits. I've been role-playing and Storytelling this game for over a year, and I find it refreshing. I can run a game where the characters have to go find chess pieces turned into humans or other similarly crazy ideas. And if it doesn't quite make sense, well, it's Changeling, and if it all has to make sense, then you're in the wrong game. Changeling's strength is in its enchantment, rather than in its logic.

There are some drawbacks to this 2nd edition, though. I was particularly annoyed by the change in the cantrips, esp. Primal. These changes make healing even harder for Changelings, which already are the weakest of the White Wolf pack.

Summary: A much better design to a great gaming concept.
Review: I bought the first Changeling book a couple years ago, and certain things frustrated me, although I loved the premise, and the IDEA for the system. Really, anyone who owns one White Wolf Gaming System owns them all, as long as you are creative and lay the rules down before play. However, they all contain good ideas, that if you have enough money, are worth it. The Bunk system in MUCH better! They also include SOME other new features. If this is your first attemp at Changeling, buy the book. If you have 1st edition, about twenty photocopies and a little reading save you a lot. Enjoy. It is better, but that much $? Not if you know the premis already. Spend it on a suppliment. They have more great ideas.

Summary: Some Questions, And Some Answers
Review: I bought this book after a nasty storyteller used Pyretics to rip his way through a swath of young changelings and undid my Pooka in one fell swoop. So I was probably a bit negatively disposed to it. I found that it was the usual mix of fascinating and irrelevant that marks much of Changeling's design, especially in the first edition.

The segement on "furthering" Western Kith is mostly a waste, in some cases, repeating verbatim what's written in the main book. Why is that? Pyretics is, in all White Wolf, the ultimate "Powergamer's" art: in summary, level 1 = How to hunt anything, Level 2-5 = How to kill it with ever-greater efficiency. Naming is an interesting art with the distinction of being _both_ underdeveloped and perhaps _too_ powerful.

The section on the Native American Kith is the most interesting part, though Rock Giants seem suspiciously like Trolls where someone had done a search/replace of "granite" for "Blue". I liked this section the most, though I can never spell "Nunnehi" right, because I think it inspires the most subtle storytelling and delves into the glamourous stories of our own, American heritage, which have been left somewhat tarnished over the years.

Overall, not a bad buy.

Summary: Changeling: The Dreaming: Most underrated RPG ever
Review: I first got into Changeling when a friend of mine loaned me the book. It is the best Role-Playing game I've ever experienced. It is such a refreshing break from the hack'n'slash of D&D, and the storyline is one of the most unique I've ever seen. I'd reccomend this book to anyone who likes RPGs, storytelling, and imagination.

Summary: White-Wolf's Best Work Yet
Review: I found Changeling: The Dreaming to be one of the most entertaining, sophistocated, and best written source books from White Wolf. Besides the stunning layout and art, the game flows like a fairy tale and plays like a dream.

Summary: disappointing
Review: I have only given this book a score of average because, despite the fact it may merit more if it stands alone, it cannot compare to the pure style and playability of vampire or werewolf. i have been playing this game for nearly 6 months now, and i just do not find it to be as stimulating as it's predecessors. maybe i just cannot appreciate the lighthearted nature of the game, but in my opinion the white wolf team need to concentrate on the darker aspects of their game, it seems to be what they are best at.

Summary: My Favorite Storyteller Game!
Review: I love this game! In order the list of the best to worst of the White Wolf WOD games in my opinion looks like this #1 Changeling, #2 Wraith, #3 Mage, #4 Vampire, #5 Werewolf, #6 Hunter.... Changeling is the best in my opinion because you are not playing totally angst filled Characters (Well except maybe Sluagh.) But they still fit comfortably into the World of Darkness. Its sad that most people overlook this game in the grand scheme of the World of Darkness because it is more "light" than the other games... Changeling is more fun because of that fact. No you are not on the run from the Wrym, fighting an Ascension War, participating in the Jyhad, or even having a constant battle with your Shadow. Instead you are trying to bring Imagination back to the world.. What a concept... :-)

Summary: Confusing and noncompatible
Review: I'll basically put it like this, I have found that Changeling is a great game but it lacks in compatiblility with over White Wolf games. Also the rules could have been written a bit better in order to aviod confusion, so far rules for Banality are the most confusing rules I have come across in any RPG
