Rating: Summary: IF ONLY I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS........ Review: ARGH! I PAID ALL THAT MONEY TO READ A BOOK ABOUT WULGAR? WHAT A LOAD! THIS IS THE LAST SALVATORE BOOK I READ
Rating: Summary: C**P IF I'VE EVER SEEN IT Review: Where is the plot? the logic? no matter what, entreri isbound to find out that drizzt is stil alive...so what's the point ofthis book? wulfgar...who cares?
Rating: Summary: Salvatore just keeps em coming Review: Out of all my favorite series authors, I'd have to say Salvatore is the only one that has kept the same energy in his ninth or tenth book as he had in his first couple. I was really pleased to see that one of Salvatore's characters has finally turned out to be a little more human after all. Drizzt and pals may have a hard time fighting physical problems sometimes, but before they've almost conquered every emotional and mental battle perfectly, and seemed to have no real faults. Wulfgar's depression should prove to be one of the groups greatest challenges. I also loved the developments in Calimport with Jarlaxe and Entrei. However, I was hoping Salvatore would start exploring a little more of the realms, with some encounters with new faces. Also, am I the only one that wants to see some crossovers between Drizzt and other major characters, like perhaps Elminster, or Midnight, or even Liriel Baenre? I think a meeting between Liriel and Drizzt would be cool, if only for once. Still, whatever Salvatore writes next, I'll buy it, and can't wait for Spine of the World to come out.
Rating: Summary: Starts slow but ends with a bang! Review: This book started out real slow and I was worried at first that Bob lost it.He then brought it all back, and you can't put the book down until the end.Drizzt is the greatest as always and it's like I'm him with every book.I do agree with other reviews about him and Cattie-brie ending up together sometime in the long future, you wouldn't want to spoil any of the excitment.I do also agree that it wouldn't hurt to try and find some new quests for the group as well.Overall they are all great, and by the way, nice touch with the battle with Drizzt and Artemis at the end, that was great!Hopefully the books with this group will just keep coming.THANKS!!!
Rating: Summary: Good--but not one of his better books. Review: I couldn't wait to buy this book, and even though it was not one of Salvatore's better FR books, I would probably still buy it. The story line was a bit hoakey, and the constant misspelling of Lloth as Lolth throughout the book distracted me every time I saw it.
Rating: Summary: Definitely intriguing... Review: Wow. I don't think I put that book down until the last page was turned. I was a little disappointed in Passage to Dawn, but Salvatore definitely redeemed himself with The Silent Blade. Entreri alone is worth buying the book. He's always been my favorite killer, but I particularly liked his role in TSB--not just a convenient villain for Drizzt to battle, but an interesting character on his own. The only thing that bothered me was that the book ended with him battling Drizzt--again. I suppose Salvatore had to intertwine the plots somehow, but the good-vs.-evil epic struggle seemed to undo some of the build up of Entreri's character. Now I hear there will be a new book focusing on Wulfgar. I will definitely buy it, but I would rather Salvatore wrote about Artemis. What the HELL happened to him in the missing years between Starless Night and TSB??? Why did he lose most of his magic items (including the mask and his sabre)? Where did he go, and what prompted him to return to Calimport? Salvatore left a lot of unanswered questions, and I will be very upset if he doesn't explain...
Rating: Summary: NEW FOES PLEASE!!! Review: Ok ok Silent Blade is good. Really good. But there is one thing i can't understand. Why don't Bob Salvatore find new foes for Drizzt. We heard enough about Artemis and Erttu. Last night i talk Drizzt about this subject. He agrees me. :P
Rating: Summary: Another Typical Dark Elf Outing- Nothing Special Review: I enjoy Mr. Salvatore's books as much as the next person however the same tired plot devices and flashbacks that have been seen in the past few books crop up again. The same phrases are used again and again. Uneeded background material is rehashed. Unceasing internal monolouges, teen angst even, continue to flow from the main character. A good read but I believe R.A. needs to move on and invest effort in some new Forgotten Realms Characters.
Rating: Summary: Too short a story for 400 pages Review: I really liked this long awaited book, and all Drizzt or Salvatore fans should buy it. It could have gotten 5 stars, but in the first 100 pages nothing really happened, which is odd for Salvatore. He could have started on page 100, and added an extra 50 pages at the end and made it really well. The plots aren't really intertwined, but are good anyway. This book is wasted with Wulfgar, he should have either had a real role or just been killed again or something. We all want to see Drizzt with Catti-brie. The fight at the end surprised me, even though I expected to be surprised. The last 10-20 pages, as with the last book, Passage to Dawn, were a bit rushed. The best part was really the focus on Entreri. He has some skills. I heard Spine of the World will focus on Wulfgar, but I can't see how anyone, even Salvatore, can make a decent book out of such a wasted character. (But I'll buy it anyway).Buff
Rating: Summary: Great Beginning...Great middle...Good ending Review: This book was great for the first 3/4 or so. The ending was a bit anti-climatic. I agree with the one reviewer that said that the characters in this book need to move on, and they have kinda at the end of the book. Atleast Wulfgar has to some extent. The whole gang needs to find some quest for the present time to fight, instead of always fighting old battles. I like the other Drow Elfs coming in every couple of books, but until Drizzt defeats the Spider Queen ( It could/will happen IMO) , the Drow elf story lines should be lessened. :) VaL
